The 3 models are cool. Here is my opinion about each of them:
1. your 1st model concept is following their ship line (the cockpit is very good example about that). It gives the impression the ship is from LR squads.
2. the chinless version I liked most because (same as 1.) plus its representing the efforts of LR to bring something new, considering what they have - cutting their own ships or parts from them and building something new. Makes more sense for an organisation like LR. (not very familiar with their deep RP but thats my opinion Big Grin )
3. Massdriver mode, his modding skills are really good but that ship looks very similar to be coming from a council line (textures dont count). That cockpit is different and placed above the engine - giving the ship a new design, being inspired from something else. Well there is nothing wrong for LR to say "Lets build something totaly new"...but more sense for the RP is "2.".

that's because pilot should have a 360 degrees fov, not really an inspiration, but a reality (from airsims ofcourse where pilot's view possibilities are critical)

Massdriver, why would you want a 360 "visual'' scan in space? When the ships themselves move around at a speed of 200m/s? Cardamine is one thing, but I really, really doubt that any human would have any use for a conventional cockpit. A capital ship, yes. The deck window would have a tactical overlay, but imho fightercraft would result in having all of their data transmitted to the helmet or mostly managed via computer, rather than visual input from the pilot himself.

@massdriver, you are thinking about this too much. Smile None of the players would think about 360 visual scan. My point was about the cockpit design which is one of the main things that is representing the ships in Freelancer. (For example, the old Paladin bret HF (TIE fighter) had a cockpit which none of the others had. It looked "not in place". After its model was changed to modified templar one, it gave the necessary feeling "that ship is bretonian")

Also most LR/M ship's cockpits are placed near the forward part of the ship, not mid. I am totally sure if you switch the cockpit position like that and change it as the original LR/M, it will be perfect. (my opinion again, but you may try it).

200ms = slower than modern aircrafts can Big Grin

also good visual is better than all of your supa helmets (in a close combat you still need to see your target isnt?) and is much cheaper in production especially for pierat made junky LF

I voted for the chin version. The chinless is a but too much for my taste may be the best compromise between both would be half chin- it is best for visual presence and also for PvP front profile, may be you can shrink the whole length of the ship a bit if you go "light" LF type and chinless front profile.
Also does not use Liberator to compare it because Liberator is broken vanilla ship- it is just too small and too OP. Rogue LF should be "heavy LF" type.

I can also second what AD said.


The Massdriver Model is perfect as well but in my opinion not so fitting to the line as the Swallow model- may be it could be used for RT/ Waran civilian light fighter with other textures and single engine from one of those.

The Greyhound Model type is not good in my personal biased opinion- I just does not like Greyhound visuals at all.
