alright, correct me if im wrong, cause im hosting a server (up to date with the same FLhook dlls) and there is an active copper field in the kansas system, the humboldt system doesn't exist, and the prices for copper at denver are incorrect compared to the guide cause for me denver buys copper at 9884

the kansas copper field and humboldt not existing are supported by the official map: http://space.discoverygc.com/navmap/ you can see the mineable copper in the kansas system and the humboldt system is not on the map. so maybe the map not being up to date is causing my confusion?

does the official server have a different mining setup and the kansas field was shut down and the denver prices changed? i could see that being true considering i find the copper ore run from kansas to colorado to be highly profitable compared to most other options

The official server has its zones and prices set differently through the use of the files "minecontrol.cfg" and "prices.cfg". By editing them you can decide what ships, guns, IDs & zones that can be used for mining. Prices can be used to determine what bases buy/sell at certain prices without having to edit base ini files. Minecontrol is used to determine mining requirements.

And it would seem the guide is a little out of date as some of these systems have been removed. I'll see if I'm able to update it.

yeah that would make sense why denver, for me, has a different sell price. it would seem though that, overall, things are largely the same.

like im using the kamome and GMG ID and gathering tons of helium-3 very quickly. so it would seem that works as intended even outside of official servers. but yeah the guide is out of date with the references to the humboldt system and not mentioning the copper field in kansas. cause the kansas copper field with a DSE ID is pretty lucrative.

I think this one should be updated, according to all the changes that were implemented throughout a year. If they were.

Agreed. This is a tutorial that needs to be updated constantly.

Are there any plans to allow the Generic Miner ID to use a freighter sized ship to mine all ores semi-effectively? Right now, the Hegemon is the only vessel capable of doing so, and I would rather use something easier to flee in, even if it has a small hold size. My ideal situation would be to just supply POBs for quick credits here and there.

Maybe the Camara would fit the job? It was built by DSE, which is Liberty's mining faction. It would also give generic miners the disadvantage of having no CD, which is exactly what the Hegemon lacks currently. Seems perfect, given all the tubing on the model and the cargo boxes for quickly dumping off ore for processing.

Just discovered the Wrecker Junker Gunboat is a very able mining ship. With a hold of 1100, and two heavy mining slots it fills up fast. Plus the fact it is also a great GB as well. Big surprise as it isn't listed on the mining ships.

Inquest.

Salvager is the best scrap miner, though the wrecker is a great piracy vessel if I do recall.
