Today, after quiet patrol, I came back to Java station. Just before i started landing procedure, my scaner detected something big, very big. It was AI controlled Outcast battleship/harvester Prometheus. After some scans, this monstrous ship started shooting at our base. Since all of our bombers were on the patrol, I decided to engage Outctast ship in my Dacite. Using big rocks to hide, i was trying to divert attention of the AI shooting at ship. For some time AI taked me as target, reducing damage to the base. Luckily, after some time AI detected something else, and battleship flew away. We definitely need more bombers in TAU-23.

RE: Attack on Java Station
After reading your report (among many others from our members, as well as transmissions from Mobius squadron and Highland Security) it seems evident that you are correct. Thankfully damage to the station was minimal thanks to your efforts and the installation of some newly developed, high strength armour plating. However, this armour is very expensive and was originally designed to protect from asteroid and micro-asteroid impacts - not fullstrength capital weapons fire.
As it is only a matter of time before parts of the station are breached, I shall look towards training new and existing pilots for the prospect of placing them in bombers.

RE: Persistent piracy in Liberty space
Greetings. As an independent defense contractor with the IMG, I have been tasked lately with the protection of IMG and allied convoys carrying Niobium from the asteroid fields in the Taus to market at planet Manhattan. It seems the decision to contract a gunboat for such seemingly routine security detail showed impressive forsight. Twice within the past two days our gunboat has been pirated on the borders of the New York system by a character who calls himself Captain Sparrow, and his associate (whose name I cannot recall).
On the first occasion (yesterday in the Colorado system), the captain of the Dextros, who I was escorting at the time, opted to pay the $2.000.000 credits requested in order to expediently proceed to Manhattan.
On the second occasion, I was alone and carrying no cargo, having just entered the California system from New York space. Nevertheless, Mr. Sparrow demanded that I pay passage, citing his dislike of the IMG, among other things. However, after a quick consultation with my gunnery officer, I declined to pay, given that I was not protecting any cargo at the time and felt that we could make an escape if necessary. This was not to the liking of Mr. Sparrow or his associate, who engaged me in a running battle.
I admit, it was foolish of me to engage, and I did not do much damage to either of the pirates. I did note their ships and weaponry, however, at least as much as my sensors man could pick up between the jolts and bright flashes. Both pirates were using Liberty Rogue gunboats, and Mr. Sparrow appeared to have a mortar mounted. After several minutes of fighting, during which it became increasingly clear that the odds were against me, we decided to run for it. (I admit, the frantic requests over the internal intercom coming up from the engine room also had an effect on my decision.) After a few tense moments, we managed to engage cruise and evade Mr. Sparrow. We docked nearby at Riverside station, where, I'm afraid, my gunboat will need to sit until at least tomorrow evening undergoing critical repairs.
I apologize for my failure to neutralize the threat, but I found myself in need of significantly better armaments to effectively deal with two pirate gunboats at once. Sorry to take your time with such a long tale, but I would strongly advise IMG traders bringing goods into Liberty space to take extra precautions, as this piracy threat is strong indeed.

Greetings all,
Well, today was... interesting. I launched my Ravens Talon to the taunts of the Outcasts. I taunted them back, and they procceded to shoot the colonials.
So nothing too interesting. Usual stuff I suppose.

Colonial patrol stopped cardamine smugglers near tau 37 jumphole today. They refused to drop contraband, so Colonials started shoot at them. Few minutes later Outcasts arrived and real battle began. This time i joined the fight, ofcourse against Outcasts. Almost all the enemy units had been eliminated except one fighter.
When the battle finished i talked with Colonials for a while, and They asked me about our Guild Master, and dock rights. It seems that Colonials want to restore good relations with us.

Today while mining i was approached by one Mr. Freeman of the Highlander ship HS.|Unsung. He had an odd proposal but i promised him that i would relay it to our defense director. He informed me that, like our organization, the Highlanders were at war with the Outcasts and he was wondering if they could purchase one of our gunboats. I informed him that they are highly restricted even within our ranks. That's when he informed me one of the Deaths| members have confiscated a Hydra Gunboat and was masquerading about in it. So Mr. Freeman's formal request is this: In return for relieving the commander of the stolen gunboat he would like to commandeer the vessel for his own organizations work.
I can say that on occasion i have witnessed these Highlanders at work and they seems that they would make a considerable ally in our fight against the Outcasts and that it would be far better to have an ally flying one of our ships than a member of the Deaths|.

RE: Outcast presence and the mysterious group VR
Greetings. As mentioned previously, I am an independent, long-term contractor for IMG security. I am writing from the medical ward at Falkland base. At present, only myself and my second mate have survived the encounter we just had in Tau 37, escaping in a pod and hiding near an asteroid until found by an IMG patrol.
Earlier I had received a report that an Outcast named ElDora was robbing IMG vessels in Tau 37, at an exorbitant rate even (7 million for a relatively empty vessel). Naturally, we responded to check out the area. We encountered a small fry Outcast patrol near the jump hole in Tau 37, who engaged me. While I was fighting them, ElDora showed up and engaged.
ElDora himself was not a significant threat. Though he could damage the Prinz Eugen, we clearly had the upper hand. However, midway through the combat, four vessels with the tag "VR" appeared through the jump hole. My comm officer intercepted communications that indicated these rogues offered their assistance to ElDora, and that he accepted. We tried to flee, but given the 5 to 1 odds we were gunned down in seconds.
VR is not an affiliation known to me, and my subsequent database scans revealed no information. If anyone has any information regarding VR, I would be happy to receive it. In the meantime, be aware that vessels with the tag VR should be considered hostile to IMG operations.
I will recuperate here on Falkland and attempt to find a ship to pilot. I may be able to contract a second gunboat, but the status of that is indeterminate as of yet.
, These past few days have been very busy for me, split between patrol routes and the mounds of paperwork associated with commisioning a capital ship. There was, though, one event worth mentioning. I, Rey Mysterio, and several CR vessles encountered a smuggler and her excort in the vecinity of Java station. My main concern was that they leave, but the colonials seemed dead set on destroying their shipment of cardamine. Just as talks seemed to be going our way (we had just gotten reinforcements in the form of two gunboats) the smugller opened fire. The craft was disposed of quickly but it's escort held on long enough to be joined by reinforcements (one Outcast gunship and a falcata, soon to be joined by a fourth ship, another sabre). We still held the upperhand and I even managed to take out the gunship. But then two things went arry. First, they got more reinforce ments, a few more ships, but I cannot be absolutly sure of their number or make as I was involved in a particularly hairy match with a falcata. This was not so bad at first but then our own two gunboats took off after an enemy vessel, leaving Me, Rey, and the colonials with the blunt of the outcast force. Im afraid, though, that this is as far as my briefing can go. My port wing was grazed by a supernova, sending my ship into a flat tailspin. With was stopped short by an asteroid. I vaguely remember the sound of my pod ejecting, but the next I knew I was on a white nylon matress on Java.
As I recover from minor inguries and a slight concussion I only hope that good news can be obtained of the outcome.

RE: Cartel and outcast pirate activity in Calaforina near NY jump gate
I have a bit of a background with the Cartel in the past, running from their gunners try to take down my cargo runs prior to me joining the IMG. I ran past a Tridente Gunboat supported by a VHF equiped either with a Mini razor that took down my shields in one hit, or some codename weapon. I just didnt have time to do a proper scan of both ships before I came under fire. The Cartel is a well funded and outfited group. I saw them take out a good sized battle force in the New York system last week. These particular two craft took down the trade lane just prior to the jump gate, demanding cargo then blowing up ships reguardless of they gave in or not. There were ejected pilots and cargo everywhere.
I guess with more courage than brains and skill, I engaged them and held them at bay until liberty forces came and ran them off. I cant stress enough for cargo pilots to avoid some trade lanes but it wouldnt have made a difference. With a Tridente gunboat, they weren't stopping any time soon.
The two ran off in different directions, typical frustrating retreat tactics but remained in system. The LNF stayed as I returned to Manchester for repairs. They say a good pilot in a VHF can engage and take out a gunboat, but I just dont see how. Maybe without its fighter escort and maybe if I had more than 10 screamer mines, but other than that....The Raven Talon is a good all around fighter. I just got to find what they are using that hits me every time and takes down my shields. I'm looking at the IMG bomber, but I have little experience in a Bomber class craft, past one I flew a short time in Rheinland. Still, I had no combat experience in it.
I keep seeing increasing reports of Cartel and Outcast activity along our main shipping routes. Request defense pilots currently flying fighters to be trained and transfered to bomber status for better protection of our ships.
On a personal request. my mother still has some ties in the Rheinland governemnt and I may be able to aquire a Fafnir bomber. This wont be easy as I was informed I may need to do some runs and missions for them. I am not sure if this fits into IMG policy, but I wanted to let IMG command know that it is an option. I am also aware of the current war between Liberty and Rheinland so I will tread on this lightly. As always, I will follow IMG to the letter.
More to report on later.
Spire out.
