I believe it could be possible that other sites could become of great use as we work towards the great Vault near Liberty. However, it is within interest to ensure the Sudbury site remains untainted. Primarily from artifacts. Not so much ships attempting to blast it down -- they don't have enough energy to penetrate it at this stage.
To your great dismay, I have employed, or will try to, the use of the Corsairs to capitalise on their little engineering ingenuity to problem solve a few things. Particularly to make a minimalistic varient of these blasters to fit onto fightercraft. But first, they'll solve the fundamental problem of the larger scaled one. And we can understand how they problem solved this, to apply to newer theories.
