so I just came with my next Q. any chance the Lane Hackers could hack into TLAGsnet and get info about traders movement?
No, Cannon already stated that unlawfuls would not be getting this.

This was added specifically to encourage people to have police characters, since before the police ID was just a subset of the Navy ID for any given house.

Whats strange, is that you will start seeing the target's engines and powercores, and you will see very absurd things like "Corsair Powercore" and stuff like that, while you're in liberty... Don't really know why this is... Any help?

Ignore the powercore entry. All it's really good for is telling you what class of ship they're in.

I have a question too, since I dont have any police characters I want to know if TLAGSNET constantly have the whole list of all ships that moved through the lines or only limited number of them, limited in time or something or the last 10-20 ships or it is real time only? Because according to me it is unfair to smugglers to be FR5ed only because some police char casually logged in order to get the info. Now there is no clear admin ruling about the TLAGSNET, should it be used in RP to fill FR5? Or not? If yes expect to have at least 20-50 FR5 reports per week or so...

Other point is that in order to smuggle undetected now you need to avoid lines and holes witch makes the trip at least twice as long, I hope that the smuggling routes will be at least twice more profitable as natural reaction to this.

And third the official factions who are involved in smuggling are really in bad position, because if they got caught once they would spoil their whole faction diplomacy, on the other side independents just need to rename themselves...

I hope that you think about the consequences of such add-on like TLAGSNET for all involved parties not only for the activity of the police factions. I am all for any innovations of such kind if they are well balanced for the both sides.

Factions have to interact with characters before/in order to FR5 them.
And reading a cargo list is not an interaction, as far as I know.

Well it is good idea, and actually it should work like that but with the currnet routes then nobody will smuggle since it is not profitable enough. The second point is that there is no difference from single-player if you avoid the interactions with other players at all coast, part of the fun in smuggling is that someone tries to catch you.
I am all for blocked/harder to access jump-gates and lines for the smugglers but they should receive better payment then the casual trading since the trip is much longer that way.

Well depends on the personal view actually, I agree with you but clear admin ruling will be better.

I'm hoping that this system doesn't show LPI when someone goes in and out of the Alaska Jumpgate...

Its small but could easily be overlooked.

It shows when someone comes out of the Alaska gate in NY, doesn't show when someone goes in.

Well, it used to. Not sure if it does anymore.

The only other thing I can say about this system...

Currently, /Showscan displays the ships Powerplant, which has no significance as they are commonly copy/pasted from other ships (ex: Showscan on a BHG VHF will display a Corsair Powerplant). This could likely be removed. Ammo items can also be removed, as the scan does not show quantities.

Aside from that, it could probably be structured better as far as sorting / formatting(If possible). Sorting changes such as displaying equipped weapons, then commodities, then unequipped weapons. Formatting changes such as displaying the name of the person being scanned and having the scan results in a separate color than the usual bright green that TLAGSNET spams for anyone using it.

Example:

Current:
MyName[$1] exited tradelane at SomeSystem A-1
/showscan$ 1[/color]
Starblazer Power Plant, Imp. Countermeasure Dropper, History of Sirius, Welcome to Discovery, Discovery RP 24/7 Server Rules, Imp. Countermeasure Flare, Lavablade Mk III, Lavablade Mk III, Helios 2, Wasp Cruise Disruptor, Seeker Mine

New (If Possible):
MyName[$1] exited tradelane at SomeSystem A-1
/showscan$ 1
MyName: Lavablade Mk III, Lavablade Mk III, Helios 2, Countermeasure Dropper, History of Sirius, Welcome to Discovery, Discovery RP 24/7 Server Rules
