The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub

[Rashid]

A slight thud is heard as Ibrahim al-Rashid's Hyena docks with Alcatraz. Making his way into the bar he quickly notices Hubert Zlob and David Brown, both conversing loudly with women who look like they might have had too much to drink..or inhale. Whichever one Rashid seemed to stop caring about as he approached the bartender.

"I'll have a coke with ice.."

"Well, if it isn't Mr. Long tan an' handsome himself." The bartender poured Rashid his coke and went back to polishing his beer mugs that seemed to be in endless supply

Rashid glanced over his shoulder and notices a hooded man sitting in the corner of the bar, who seemed to doing something on his datapad. The only thing Rashid really did on those things was play video games the Hackers had sold him. He smiled and turned back to the Bartender.

"Who's the loner?"

"His name's Dervin Malfient. Known him for awhile. He's an ex-Rogue. Not one to be messed with neither. Not much to say that isn't already obvious. Why do you ask?"

"Dunno.. he just looks likes he's up to somethin, that's all. Lookin' all serious with his nose in that datapad.."

"'Spose you're right. Then again, i'm not one to meddle in other people's problems."

"I'd actually find that a good trait in a bartender. Gives people somethin' to talk about. Or fight about..Anyway thanks for the drink. I think i'll go have me a chat with this 'Dervin Malfient'.

Rashid gets up from his stool and approaches the hooded man.

"Hey, whatcha up to man?" he says with a smile on his face.

David escorted the two girls past the table Diana was still sat at; he had no idea when Clif left.

Just as he reached the exit, he heard the sound of breaking glass behind him.

Turning round, he saw this rather small and angry looking guy confronting Ibrahim. It looks as though ibrahim had accidently knocked the guys drink over.

Smiling slightly at the look of horror on the poor guys rather soft features, looking down into the eyes of the scruffy looking man who looked ready to kill, he turned back to the girls who had also paused upon hearing the glass.

'Come on ladies,' he said, 'let's get out of here before the fun starts eh? Important things to do, and what not.'

Walking out of the bar, David heard angry voices eminating from the Bar. Grinning at the thought of what Ibrahim would look like next time he saw him, he continued his walk towards the girls transport.

Rashid heard a voice behind him and looked at the broken glass on the floor.

"Hey what the hell man?!" he heard a small, ungainly man say.

"Uhh, sorry about that."

"That drink cost me 200 credits! Get outta my face before I make you wish you hadn't stepped in here."

"Look, I said I was sorry. And I don' take orders from drunken midgets."

"Whadid you jus' say??" "I'll bury you, ya clumsy bastard!"

"You want to make this a big frackin' deal? Go ahead chump. Make my day." Rashid stated while reaching under his coat as if he were reaching for a pistol.

The man shot an angry scowl, and then sat back down in his seat, seemingly unaware that Rashid never had a weapon.

"Hahaha, yeah that's what I thou- AGH!"

Rashid started to turn around only to have this psychotic dwarf tackle him to the ground, knocking over a few tables as he did. A full out brawl insinuated after an exchange of punches, and most of the room got up to watch the fight.

Dervin halfway looked up at Al-Rashid and nodded to the man. "Work," was his simple, but polite answer. And it wasn't that Dervin didn't hear the 'scuffle' start behind him, but he found it hard to care. The video on which is attention was focused was the very one that Clif had given him; surveillance footage that he wanted to edit. His wine, long since warmed to room temperature, was suddenly spilled on his lap from a participant of the growing brawl. A shorter man looked at Dervin as if it were his fault.

Returning the sneer, he flicked his dull blade in one hand and shoved it deep into the stomach of the enraged dwarf. The man howled in pain and doubled over. Dervin casually put his boot on the fellow's head and shoved him back onto the floor before returning to make sure the wine hadn't damaged his datapad. He ignored the gasps and the continued brawl behind him.

It was late afternoon ...By the bases time anyway.

Time didn't really have the same meaning since there were so many systems. You could live your whole life and never see the sunset.

<div align="right]Another silhouette in the background, all the personnel moving with a purpose; repair broken ships, install parts or simply looking like they were busy as Ashes was cycling through the bases docking air-locks, which was motivation enough let alone the fact she was about to land and "Pick something up" as she had described it when hailing Alcatraz. Nothing of which being slighty out of the ordinary as people around here didn't exactly share there uttermost happenings with the random techie operating the Local scanner.


Leaning against a darkened corner of the hanger bay, A small figure outfitted in the greased up outfit most of the repair personnel wore, every detail accoutered for even including a grease stain and a name tag plus ID which was also stained with what ever hydraulic fluid or cooling crap the repair crew used to fix ships.

<div align="right]Doning her worker cap which she had found lying on the ground earlier the figure waited for Ashes ship to land. A stunning ship with all the scratches and burns of a ship thats seen more combat than an LPI Liberator, plus two darkened holes which look like they were acquired not so long ago. As ashes ship landed and expecting a detail of guards, to which none arrive. The figure strolled towards the craft.

Ashes never did like anyone to fuss over her. Thinking that to her self, the distant figure hurried up to catch the repair crew waiting for ashes to exit her ship so they could get to work repairing the carnage the countless plasma and laser energys do to ships. Tagging onto the end of the five team crew, they began to walk up the ramp as Ashes left her ship, A quick "Thank you" was given to ever person as Ashes strolled out.

As ashes got to the 6th person. Ashes said a customary Thanks for fixing her up" to which the figured nodded, keeping her head from view then hurried on inside with the rest of the repair team.

Leaving Ashes standing on the Hangar bay with a slight feeling she'd forgotten something.

She screamed as she entered the cafe. Everyone in the cafe turned around just to give her a 'You're a freak' look. To that, she responded by waving.

Hubert just kept laying on the floor near his favourite table. He heard some strange sounds, but he didn't bother to analyze it in his drunken mind. Finally, bartender came accompanied by two big and ugly guys, took semi-concusioness Hubert, and threw im out of the bar...
Hubert tried to stand up, but felt miserable, and throw up.
Oh, this will be hell long way to his appartment...

Chris got to the bar for the last time. He looked at the rogues around. Some of them sad, some of them disappointed, some of them angry, and some of them... dead.
He headed towards the bartender.

-So, I heard you're leaving the rogues. Is that true?- the bartender asked.
-Aye. Ah got tired o' this. I will leave in some minutes. I'm getting mah last "Cockroach" in this bar.
-You want to fly asleep? A "Cockroach" will send you to sleep!
-Ah ain't gonna pilot the ship. Ah'm leaving in the Salvager stationed there. Ah paid them to get me far from here. Trafalgar is mah first stop.
-I see. Good luck there, Chris. You'll need it if you're heading far from here.- He ends mixing the rusty-brown drink, and hands it to Chris.
-Thank you. Hope to see ye, but not soon. *chuckles*- Chris hands over the money to the bartender and takes a sip of the drink.- Just how I like it.

Chris finished his drink and headed towards the right door, which lead to the hangar. The rusty Salvarger was stationed using the main capital moor. The captain of it was standing next to the ship.

-Ready for a new life?- the Captain said.
-Ready.
-I'm Ruffus Stanford, captain of the "Scrap Maiden". I assure you we'll have a nice trip.
-I hope that.

Chris got in the ship. A couple of rogues, an outcast, a hacker, and many junkers and pirates were inside. Chris sat in a seat next to a window. The window was dirty, and had some swear words scratched on it. "Goodbye, Alcatraz. We had nice moments together. Also bad ones, which were the most. But I won't forget you." Rufus' voice sounded from the speakers.

-"This is your captain, Ruffus Stanford. I hope you all enjoy the trip. There are no stopovers planned until we arrive to Trafalgar. There's only one bathroom for the passengers, and it's currently out of service. *chuckles* I was joking. It is in the middle-right of the ship. We're departing right now, so wear your seat belts... If you searched for seat belts you're dumb, 'cos there aren't any. *laugh*"

The "Scrap Maiden" departed. Chris looked through the window the icy base. A new life was about to begin...

The hurricane of fighting behind him and mostly quelled, and similarly, Dervin was also finishing up his own task. He slid the datapad into a pocket of his jacket and finished his wine in a single swig. The burn of the alcohol content stung, but the intoxication that accompanied it made the sensation bearable without vomiting. It had been a time since Dervin had drank to such an extent, but the demands of stress weren't to be ignored. Only blunted over a glass of wine.

He considered ordering another before turning and leaving. With the video properly doctored, Clif would suspect an altogether new Rogue of tampering with Beggar's Behest. Dervin smiled to himself, stepping over several unconscious or lifeless bodies on his way out of the Alcatraz bar. Now, where was Clif?

"Too easy," Dervin thought, leaving the dank smell of sweat and sour alcohol behind him. More than a few others seemed to be leaving as well, perhaps a product of the brawl, or perhaps they had people to kill as well.

Margaret entered the pub and looked for free place to sit. Tables and floor under them were full of drunken Rogues which, it seems, had difficult day. She quickly found the barman who pointed to the table near window.
“At least this one is free”
Margaret took the place and looked around. Her hand slowly moved a bottle of wine to mouth but her eyes were focused on rogues’ faces. With anger in them she kept drinking wine.
- Something wrong, Margaret?
Barmen sat next to her. His smile wanted to say: “I have few minutes, so you can tell me your story”.
- Well. I am here every day but it’s rare to see new faces. All those rogues aren’t new here and I have seen their drunken eyes before.
She looked at empty bottle.
- I know everyone of them. Tonny can’t work in team, Karl is bad as bomber pilot, Lilith always fails and I don’t know why she is still alive…
Barmen’s view was pointed on fifty years old Lilith who tried to read a book.
- And what are you going to do?
Margaret smiled.
- It’s simple. I and my friends will watch Liberty from different places. After we found lone pirate, we’ll send him to Alcatraz and test him. And just after that Sylpheed will see, is that a good rogue or not.
- Are you sure that will work? What about Boss opinion?
- I’ll talk about that with Cliff. He’ll be here in few hours so, please, make us a good diner and few bottles of wine. This is going to be difficult evening.
