PS3 wins, because of this game.
I am a PC gamer, through and through. I rarely ever look at the consoles, but I have found myself staying up many a night and just staring into my TV while I play LittleBigPlanet. This game is bloody amazing. There's so much to do, and I guarantee you, if you have an imagination, you'll be spending hours upon hours just creating things.
If you choose the PS3, and you have PS1/2 games you wish to use on it, make sure that the PS3 that you get is backwards-compatible. The new PS3s are not.
Additionally, if you decide on a 360, you may want to get a Falcon, or wait for a Jasper. The CPUs on Falcons produce less heat, leading to less RROD than the original 360s (I think they were Xenons or somesuch thing.) Jaspers are supposed to come with GPUs that produce less heat, but have been expected for months and haven't been seen yet.
No, I didn't read the thread because I've probably heard all of it a thousand times over on GameFAQs.
PS3 Warhawk and MSG4 are two of the best games ive played and resistance isnt bad, but most people are quite quite on PS3 compared to the hooting idiots on Xbox but while it does mean youll get less insults shouted at you it does detract from the feeling that your killing a person rather than an NPC
I want to get an XBox 360 mainly for the Halo, Mass Effect, GTA and Battlefront games, but there you go.

I thought all the PS3s were not backwardly compatible? Do you have to pay more to get one that is backwardly compatible?
If memory serves, the original PS3s were fully backwards compatible... I've used one, they would create "virtual" memory cards for your old games. I loved it, but couldn't afford my own.
All PS3s built after a certain date (I do not know when) had backwards-compatibility removed as a cost cutting measure.
In short, don't spend on any console !!!
A desktop is a necessity these days, it's cheaper to upgrade and will always be compatible with older stuff...
One thing to remember though - XBOX being from our beloved M$ always will have spyware... They recently put some kind of firmware upgrade to detect modded consoles... the forums are full of people with banned machines... You can't even mod the box for making copies of legally owned disks for backup...
besides, in another year, I'm sure there will be replacements for both these consoles, the new games will not be compatible with either....

X-Box or Wii. I've played both, and they're worth their gaming versatility in gold.
The Wii, good clean fun, mild/moderate action, versatile.
X-Box, action-oriented, less hitting people over the head with your controller.:P
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
both consoles are good, but i got a 360 mainly for bioshock (now coming to the ps3) halo3, mass effect, and best of all gears of war 1 and 2! if you like left 4 dead thats coming to the 360 too. its all in preference
As for the Wii, definitely not worth it. It's fun at first because it's so different, but after awhile it gets boring.
They threw out all their big titles so soon, and all their 3rd party stuff is junk, the graphics are horrendous on some games, and for the most part they're only fun with a group of friends.
Now with Fallout 3, PC and 360 get Downloadable content. PS3 does NOT get that. But only the PC version gets the G.E.C.K, which is the construction kit. So if you have a PC that can run Fallout 3, get it on that.. If not, get a 360 if you're big into those games.
Gears of War 1/2 are okay games, but definitely not huge huge sellers. For the most part, only good for 1 playthrough each.
Mass Effect was horrible in my opinion. One of Bioware's worst RPGs yet.
Left 4 Dead is also gonna be better on PC, because of the modding community. There's already some amazing maps that are due to be released soon, so if your PC can handle it, get it on PC.
