So yeah, does Bretonia enforce conscription of civilians into the armed forces at the usual age of 18-24 years or something to keep their manpower pool up?
Also, do any of the Houses perform conscription for that matter, or are all the military forces considered 'Standing Professional Army'?
' Wrote:Bretonia does maintain a militia, but so far there has been no Conscription according to the rumors/infocards.
What's the word on a Militia? I've been considering funding one to keep my trader going with more enthusiasm, and I can get some more combat experience, but never be really on the front lines of war.
Conscription has been all but abolished in the United States. Such is the state of modern warfare. Now try warfare a thousand years from now.
Yeah... no. Conscripts would be useless. It would take far too much training and specialization to make a drafted army even remotely useful in such circumstances.
I doubt that any of the Houses would conscript people. Right now, conscription isn't even implemented in the West, so naturally, I wouldn't expect any of the Western-based Houses to implement conscription. Kusari might implement it like most Asian nations, although right now, Japan doesn't implement it because of American intervention in the Japanese constitution following World War II.
