A Dress Fit For a Queen

Catherine was surprised to find how easily her mother accepted the fact that she was marrying an outsider. Usually Junkers didn't marry people from outside the 'family' and even then it was usually the father's decision as to who a girl should be allowed to marry. But Catherine had never met her father...
She had gone to see her mother about getting a dress for the wedding. After seeing the prices on Manhattan and Los Angeles, Catherine decided to hav her mother make one.
"Uh, Mom, are you sure this isn't overdoing it a bit?" she asked. The design her mother had shown her seemed more like a Recycler than a dress; elements of things she'd seen all over Sirius.
"Oh, Catherine!" said her mother, "You can never overdo a wedding!"
"Couldn't I have something simpler?" asked Catherine, getting frustrated.
"Well, the wedding is in two weeks," said her mother.
"Right," said Catherine, producing a more traditional design on her PDA.
"I guess we'll just have to go with that," sighed her mother.
