This is a case of the reluctant Freelancer. It'€™s been a while since I'€™ve seen one of these. Again, using the idea that a Freelancer cant uphold the law or some contract is just bloody amazing. As if it would legitimize them smuggling. Caught this Liberty mammoth transport trying to take Military Vehicles off of Nuremburg and even asked him to turn around and land, about three times. When someone says '€œno,'€ it pretty much seals the deal. We opened fired and left his ship asunder. It really does pay to follow the rules.

Ship Class: Mammoth Liberty transport
Cargo: Military Vehicles (440)

First time fer everything. Ran into a Gaian gunboat. Slim pickens of you ask me. I sounded off to local patrols and without so much as a hello, the varmint started pulsing our shields at range. Well we weren'€™t going to take that laying back and I commanded to open fire. I did the old Cowboy maneuver, against a more maneuverable horse, ya'€™ll dig in and let '€˜em have it. I thought we would need some help but ended up figuring his moves out real quick like and it was all she wrote.

Had the varmint on the run and lit him like a candle as he tried ta vamoose.

I'€™ll use his ashes ta fertilize a tree. I think they would want it that way.

There were two transports fleeing Munich smuggling military vehicles. The ships were Still and faers, both Bumblebee - K60P - 27T Kusari Transports. One had an Interspace Commerce ID while transport Still did not have ID papers. I asked them to stop twice and when they took the trade lane to Miens, I was forced to order battle stations and open fire and destroyed faers, I implored Still to turn around and surrender. He only turned to open fire on me and I was forced to take him out as well.

No complete communications log was made.

Early morning patrol yielded a light transport ship trying to smuggle military vehicles out of Munich. Ship details as follows.

Dromedary - Series YX Border Worlds Freighter
[Image: 254px-Dromedary-s.png]
Name: The_Adder
ID: Civilian
IFF: none
Cargo:Military Vehicles (130)

I was amazed they stopped and responded. There was an apparent misunderstanding of general shipping of military vehicles they thought they could transport military vehicles within the bounds of Rheinland, With a Civilian ID, I just don'€™t believe so. They did comply with my request to return the cargo, but I was under the impression they would land, only to later smuggle the cargo away. Thankfully, I was mistaken and they removed the cargo from their hold, into Mainz station. All'€™s well that ends well.

Two for one tonight. I ran into a Freelancer smuggling Military Vehicles from the Munich system but I was able to convince and divert him back to Nuremburg. He was quite cooperative and even managed to transport some scientists to make up his losses. Transport data as follows:

Albatross - CT-39X Civilian Transport
[Image: 254px-Albatross-s.png]
Ship Name: Chubbs
Ship IFF -NA-
ID: Freelancer
Cargo: Military Vehicles (399)

[--communication--]

Next was an IC transport ship also smuggling military vehicles, Ship name of DareDuck who almost got his duck plucked. We caught him in the middle of the trade lanes and made him well aware of his violation of Rheinland law. He tried to cruise away, but when we told him we would open fire, his mind changed in a hurry. Returning to Nuremburg, he left the planet empty handed but none the less, without his original cargo. Transport data as follows:

Titanic - Civilian Heavy Tanker

Ship Name: DareDuck
Ship IFF Interspace
ID: Interspace Commerce
Cargo: Military Vehicles (960)

There is always one. Caught a transport leaving Nuremburg with a cargo of military Vehicles. He did respond and showed signs of returning planet side but then he cut the jump lane midway and tried to make a run for it. We opened fire and near his destruction he called for us to stop while still trying to cruise away with his smuggled cargo. That wasn'€™t happening. He ended poorly. Unfortunately he must have had a second cargo ship because moments later he launched with an identical transport, again carrying military vehicles. He is continuing to do this through the day and I am asking Cedric Richards to handle this pest as he will undoubtly continue this smuggling. As a result he is now on the Rheinland Criminal Database.

I had heard of this transport before but I never had the chance to see it until now. Jake, on his way back, escorting an ALG transport, ran into iTunes carrying slaves. He sounded off for me to launch in the Munich system where I intercepted and detained the transport. The transport captain tried to bribe me to allow him through and I refused. After a terse conversation, I managed to convince the freelancer to release the people and proceed on through Munich. Though I was reluctant to let him, proceed, I'€™ll keep an eye on him in the future. Transport data as follows:

[--Conversation--]

Firefly Transport
[Image: 254px-Firefly-s.png]
Ship Name: iTunes
Ship IFF Zoner
ID: Freelancer
Cargo: Slaves (3480)

I called in for a local patrol to help transport the people planet side. I would like to thank Captain Hofner of the [RM-MND]Transport-003 [i[ and his escort for helping defend and getting those people to safety. I hope they can make a new start.

Incoming Transmission
Transmission Origin: Relayed from Munich
Vessel ID: [FL]-FireHawk
Sender ID: Adam Spire

I ran into two ships on the way back to Rheinland from Sigma 13. A Junker salvage Frigate, ID of Shadowberserker and in formation was a Firefly transport none other than iTunes. I pursued them both and Identified them as hauling Copper Ore.

I was forced to head them off through the restricted passage in the Western cloud into Hamburg. I'€™m a bit fan of guilty by omission and that Junker did it though I did not keep the communications log to prove it. With [i[iTunes carrying the same cargo, it doesn'€™t take a rocket scientists to figure out he was taking that across the lines as well.

One thing of note was that Junker. It had a Guard ID. That cannot be just a random Junker or some Independent transport. I'€™m reporting this.

Our contract focuses on the planet of Nuremburg and it'€™s defense. Cargo embargo is rather a shady area and when it comes to that, I feel more comfortable having a local patrol take that under their wing and follow their lead. There were no patrols in range and I broke off pursuit.

Transmission timed out

Intercepted a rather friendly Freelancer who was smuggling Military Vehicles from the Munich system. Halting him and explaining the illegalities of his actions, he responded promptly by turning back to Nuremburg, landing, and replacing the Military Vehicles with consumer goods. Seeing him on his way we broke off and let him go on his way. Transport data as follows:

Series "DL" Border Worlds Transport
[Image: 254px-BWTrans-s.png]
Ship Name: GyTrash
Ship IFF Zoner
ID: Freelancer
Cargo: Military Vehicles (719)

[---Communications Report---]

Another Border Worlds transport that was caught smuggling Military Vehicles, only this one wasn'€™t very talkative. I managed to divert the transport back to Nuremburg and forced him to land. However, the transport powered down and no further contact was established. I can only presume he will make a run with the cargo. We'€™ll keep an eye out on this transport. Vessel data as follows:

Ship Name: Johnny.Starchild

I almost don'€™t even know where to start. I left Bretonian space to try to help in ways I couldn'€™t back home. Leeds. I left before all hell broke out with Kusari but still I convinced myself I could do better here in Rheinland, away from the fighting to just get some bloody perspective on the whole thing. Enough of my rambling.

[---Communications---]

Shortly after Bowex'€™s transmission I launched right smack into two Shire class transports. One of the same ones Owen'€™s ran into Munich. Taking ID and cargo scans, the damn bastards both were hauling military vehicles. I dispensed with the formalities and commanded all weapons to destroy those two transports. In the mix a Zoner tagged freelancer Firefly transport was also transporting Military vehicles. Just frackin unbelievable. The Specops transport managed to land at Mainz and we opened fire on the other Shire Arnie while we were able to destroy the Shire transport Arnie. The Firefly transport Ratty also fired upon me but escaped in the scuffle.

Ship Class: Shire - Bretonian Container Transport
Cargo:Military Vehicles (836)
Ship Name: SEPCOPS_BLADE_RUNNER
Ship IFF: Bowex

Ship IFF: Zoners

One minute later two more freelancers in Borderworlds transports both were carrying military Vehicles. Needless to say I was already fuming over those two Bowex transports and told those two the law. Not taking any chances I pulsed the lane and pulsed at one of their shields before they agreed to finally return to Munich. With as much composure as I could muster, They both landed and returned the cargo. I'€™ll report those two here, but give some damn benefit of the doubt that they won'€™t try that crap again.

How can I ever return home again?
