With battleships, certainly, but most battleship turrets aren't underpowered (as far as I know). Cruisers vary widely... Liberty Cruiser only has 7 turrets (and a nifty forward cannon, but that's of very limited use). Same with the Dragon Cruiser. Bretonian Destroyer only has 7 turrets, with no forward cannon. Kusari Destroyer has a more reasonable 9. Then you get a few other cruisers with 10 or 12 turrets. But their turrets suck... Damage is usually about twice that of a gunboat turret, but refire rate is half, which makes them less useful overall. In a number of cases the gunboat turrets also have a greater projectile speed.

From what i understand, its basically attack:defense , you can either choose to be powerful, or you can be well defended. If battleships turrets were the best there would be no reason to fly anything less, if you have the money for a battleship and license. I agree, the gunboats might be a tad too strong, but if a battleship or cruiser has high armor AND high attack power, then there is no way anything less could beat it.

While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack

It's cruisers more than battleships. Battleships seem fine, gunboats seem fine (though Cerbs are a little silly at the moment), but cruisers seem to be fairly pointless.

Cerberus gunboat turrets overpowered now.
Anyone has the same issue with this?
No more different combinations, every single gb is now carrying 3-4 cerbs.
It's kind'a boring.
Maybe 10-11k energy usage would make things little better? Because now...
GB can take on every cruiser with no problems now, i don't think it should be like that..
Yeah, sure, it could beat a cruiser before, but you needed some skill in dodging and tactics to do so.
Now, gb beats cruiser in a straight fight. (at least some more powerfull gb's)
But then again.. Am i the only one complaining about those?
Because if i am, keep the stuff.

Liberty and Dragon Cruiser are designed as BS and Station Killers with their forward guns. They have a few turrets as anti fighter defense. They are not supposed to deal with Gunboats. Thats why they need fighter or gunboat escort.

The bretonian destroyer is a part for itself. It is underpowered. I will suggest to give the bretonian destroyer the ability to mount 2 BS turrets to compensate the extreme lack of firepower.

Also we have really 6 classes of capships.

1. Corvettes/Sloops = Ships of Gunboat size without forward gun.
2. Gunboats = Their mark is the forward gun.
3. Destroyer
4. Cruiser
5. Battlecruiser
6. Battleships, including Dreadnoughts and Carrier

Imho they should be treated this way.

Btw, there are only three hardpoint types for the use of revoluting equipment. HpWeapon, HpTurret and HpTorpedo.

In the shiparch.ini the mountable weapon/turret classes are stated.
