So, like, the Council want's to start exporting copper sex toys to Sirius in order to buy more Redemptions. We already mine and sell the refined product on Quillan, but we'd be super happy if the dev's/cannon placed a Copper ore sell point somewhere in Champagne.

As far as I'm aware Copper is only mined in omega 7 - so it's a fairly decent hike, but doesn't have to be obscenely priced as the NPC's of Gallia have been castrated.

Also, boost to activity in Gallia? Gives the IMG another customer who's not at war with everyone - I'm assuming as it stands, any IMG miner caught mining Copper in omega 7 by the RM is likely to receive a spank. So save buttocks everywhere and do it for great justice.

The Council would be mega happy and totally in :ylove:with the devs/cannon if this was made possible- and I would promise not use GoBarbra to contact the IMG inorder to set up a supply for the ores.

I'm againt having a mining field in Gallia, as we're the Council not miners - so should be <strike>dying </strike> flying in Agamas not Hegemons/Maffics. But it would/could allow for players to set up a Council backed civilian organisation and stop me from trying to be king of Council.

What does the community think?

Since I cannot see any arguments against it I agree that this might be good idea.

Being considered.:)

Be aware however that a low-yield copper field also exists in Tau 39, so we can't bump the prices too high unless we kill that field entirely (or switch the ore type to something else)

Anything that brings more activity to Gallia is a good idea, I agree with this very much

And while we're at it, some other trade routes wouldn't hurt, for example Cardamine, to give smugglers and unlawfuls some love.

For the record, the topic starter and first 2 replies were from [C]ouncil members. It's understandable that they would want this but it should be noted that they're not coming from a neutral perspective.

Quote:Also, boost to activity in Gallia?

Hmmm, where have I heard this before?....

(1) First, the admins added Niobium and Beryllium Ore sale points in Burgundy to boost activity in Gallia.
(2) Then, they opened Gallia to trade to boost activity in Gallia..
(3) Next, they created /restarts to stoke battles in Languedoc to boost activity in Gallia..
(4) There was a Gold Ore sale point added to Alesia to boost activity in Gallia.
(5) Gallic NPCs were defanged to boost activity in Gallia.
(6) And an annoying Gallic rep-ninja was removed to boost activity in Gallia.

And the final result of all those Gallia activity-boosting changes.....

Well, see for yourself:
http://www.discoverygc.com/server/players_online.html
(Count the number of players in Burgundy, Languedoc, Lorraine, Dauphine, and Champagne. Note: you probably won't need 2 hands.)

Also, official Gallic factions are on the lower 50% among the other factions for server faction activity:
http://discoverygc.com/server/activity_summary.html

***********************
So you can go ahead and make this change, but I wouldn't expect a noticeable bump in Gallic activity. Why would this change suddenly sprout a Gallic boom when other changes did not?

What will the Council be doing once this change comes into effect? They probably won't be sending trade ships down to Omega-7 to pick up the ore. The likely outcome I forsee is Council snubs camping the 2 choke point entrances to Gallia or to Champagne to tax the Copper ore haulers.

So I think the effect of this on Gallia activity will be negligible and I am against this change because it will likely come with a nerf for the Planet Houston copper ore sale price. The copper ore price at Houston has been good for mining activity in Omega-7. (Disclosure: I do some of my mining in Omega-7).

Let's all just be friends and have a good time.

I also agree with the most of it about the Gallic activity. But if the council get mining bonus then they should mine in gallia and export in Sirius- much more sense for me. I also thing that putting the most profitable selling spots in the empty and dead gallic systems is a mistake, I would do quite the opposite with gallic exporting stuff not importing.

First of all, Battlesnax, the Council don't pirate/tax unless it's contraband. (slaves, cardamine, all that good stuff).

Secondly, yes the first two replies are indeed biased, but correct me if I'm wrong, it almost sounds that you think this a malefic conspiracy of the [C] to put a monopoly on the copper industry in Gallia and Sirius combined and to make Alexander Du Lac the Dark Overlord of Copper.

It's an idea brought up by a Council player who, what do you know, is actually interested about the features of the Council side of Gallia, and is backed up by his fellow members, whose voices weight just as much as anyone else in the community that have any interest in this area.

This idea shouldn't be scrapped or implemented solely on the basis of being an activity booster or not.

Oh and, I do support more opportunities in Gallia, and this seems like a good one.
