Battlesnax, you obviously don't know Gallia too well - not that it's a problem, many don't - but we're asking for a sell point in Champagne - the Council's system. Why would be taxing some one bringing us things we needed?
Secondly, the Council cannot rob traders - or tax them unless they are carrying contraband - in this case we'd have to first claim the ore is contraband and then rob the traders blind as they come through the mine passage.
The whole point of this is too further boost activity in Gallia - if we camped entrances to Gallia how exactly does that help?
Thirdly, we WANT to send trade ships in convoys - its the only trading I can abide - we even have our own trading wing in operation - the IMG - who we imagine our supplier would be - probably would insist on the ore being hauled by an outside group - or the Council -as annoying the Gallic Crown wouldn't bode well for them.
Fourthly, if your mining in O-7, I'd have thought you'd like to see more customers looking to buy your ores?
Fithly, we shouldn't give up because activity failed to ignite after the previous attempts - I'll point out that never has there been the economic stimulus to trade in Gallia - sure - there's plenty of fancy commodities, NPC's were suitably nerfed, but it's still a ball ache to travel to and in (if your unlawful/non GRN boot-licker).
Finally, Teschy, beat me to all the important points - so really, if your reading this, you've kind of wasted your time. I'd quit now......still here? Why? I'm just repeating what Teschy said -well, not this bit exactly - but....nevermind.......nope....I got nothing ....... Q_Q
I have been killed for nothing multiple times (with empty cargo bays!!)by Gallian orgine Players in (and astonishingly around) Gallia (Tau 23, not a bit far away??) and i wasnt there often. Propose you clean up there and establish some security for a try.
That gererates enough activity for a start!
Seems to me that you just want to lure in foolish forreign Shootingtargets with admin help you put another big Candy there.
But there are already multiple exclusive highprofit tradeopportunities available
Export (Gallia exclusive AND lowest prices in Sirius):
(Tobaco, Wine, Prometheum, Bio-Neural-Processors, Cryocubes etc..)
Import (Gallia highest or among highest prices in hole Sirius):
(Engine Componnts, Counterfeit Software, Diamonds, Iridium, Luxury consumer goods, Luxury food, Neon, Nuclear devices, Platinum etc. etc...)
Its not the lake of tradegoods, its you Gallians that are standing in the way of increased activity...realy.
Pretty much what Phoenix Alpha said - only I'm going to be more verbose.
Mainly - the idea we are luring players to Gallia to blow them up simply isn't true for the Council, we don't, nor have we ever done that. Now you might have an argument on your hands if you said we we were luring you to Gallia, in order to the lure the Brigands/Corse/Maquis into attacking you - hoping to lure the GRN/GRP to attack them - in order for the Council to attack them-........oshi! I've said too much! XD
While yes, you have listed a series of high value goods going both ways - you've failed to mention the effort it takes - having to fly through some rather dangerous and populous areas of space filled with all manner of ne'er-do-wells and assorted villains- those gross profits don't appear to stack up to the money to be made sticking to Sirius. So you don't think I'm blowing smoke, take Iridium for example - who would take it all the way from Delta - through Corsair territory and into Bretonia - and then skip Newcastle and haul it even further into the Taus and Gallia - for a mere 4/5 hundred credits more per unit?
' Wrote:How come i know all that so well in detail then?
You maybe got the absolute numbers right, but that doesn't mean the trade routes are any good. The differences in sell prices might be large, but the distance between the points outweighs the profit, by far. I lead IDF Shipping, so I know my routes. If you account for distance, time, diplomacy and some RP while we're at it, its not as good as you describe. Also, remember that a good route needs profit in both directions, not just a delivery.

Every time i tried lawful Forces where nowhere. If you had been atleast to late one could hope..
You realy think Traders will invest 20min Travel and some millions for Cargo just so you can shoot some criminals...MAYBE..?
Go hop in a Trader and be the suicidal bait for nothing yourself. But let me guess..your to smart to try that...im the stupid so i should play that role...now...noone comming? Now you make a guess...
Your sort of confirming my argument, that the effort has to be worth the reward. Also, in all the time I've been in Gallia, I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen the lawful forces at a Jump hole - ie. a Sirian trade route - and not once were they camping it, but had rather chased something to it. The GRN know full well that if they do that absolutely on one would bother coming back to Gallia- which kind of the defeats the point doesn't it?
I mention the "taxing" (not pirating) because of Refaello Sanzio's previous failed attempt to start regulating trade in Gallia via 'authorizations' here and here. I consider forcing traders to register and pay for a license to be a form of taxing since it impedes free-trade at the expense of the trader. Now, what I said in my previous post was speculative based on past behavior. I was predicting that since you tried before, you would try again. If you can guarantee that the Council will not be taxing nor forcing traders to register when they want to bring in Copper Ore, then I will withdraw that critique.
Quote:Secondly, yes the first two replies are indeed biased, but correct me if I'm wrong, it almost sounds that you think this a malefic conspiracy of the [C] to put a monopoly on the copper industry in Gallia and Sirius combined and to make Alexander Du Lac the Dark Overlord of Copper.
No I don't, Monsieur Strawman.
Quote:It's an idea brought up by a Council player who, what do you know, is actually interested about the features of the Council side of Gallia, and is backed up by his fellow members, whose voices weight just as much as anyone else in the community that have any interest in this area.
They have the right to bring up/back him up just as I have the right to disagree and disclose their affiliations.
Quote:This idea shouldn't be scrapped or implemented solely on the basis of being an activity booster or not.
Maybe not 'solely' but at least 'mostly'.

Don't be condescending.
To answer your question, ask your friend Refaello. Ask the BAF. Ask the GRN. Lots of factions force traders to pay or get licenses in order to trade with their bases. Happens all the time. That's why I predict the Council would start doing the same.

I'm not online a lot but I have not seen the [C]ouncil convoys trading in Sirius yet. Do you do that already?
Quote:Fourthly, if your mining in O-7, I'd have thought you'd like to see more customers looking to buy your ores?
Short answer: No, it doesn't work like that. And I think that adding a Gallic sale point would mean a nerf to the Houston price. Hopefully I am wrong.

There's plenty of stimulus. (Gold Ore, Cryocubes, Holotainers, Tobacco,...etc) It's just empty and boring. I'd say give up until the big update comes out.

Don't be condescending and don't take my critiques personally.

Quote:But if the council get mining bonus then they should mine in gallia and export in Sirius- much more sense for me.
This would be nice but they can't add in any new mining zones until there is a big update patch (like 4.86). At that time, all these minor issues will be moot.
I've addressed my points as to why we should receive a sell point, hopefully it won't disrupt anyones game to badly if we did.
Yes, the [C]-CLT- trade ships are about in Sirius - we've had a few convoys, even got my Vache merc'd by a certain lady Reaver.
Also, didn't mean to sound condescending in the start, apologies if I did - I honestly thought you didn't understand what we asking for, or know what the Council does/acts - and the last bit was me failing at humour. Again, sorry, my bad.
About the Gallic commodities, I've answered that previously, yes- high gross profits - but low actual profitability.
