Barrier Gate Station West Wing Pub, The Lone Drunkard

Sitting alone in a small corner of the pub, a certain man was reading his datapad. People in the pub didn't pay much attention to the man as he looked like that of a freelancer. Blue Jeans, Brown Leather Jacker, Gray Sweater, and he seemed to be wearing a leather boots mostly to blend in the mix of people that usually come to the "Gate".

The datapad read

Howdy Commander. Didn't expect to be hearing from you again.

I'll be there, not a problem. Just make sure you get that core patched up first, hun, wouldn't want that thing going nuclear on base. Could get a little messy.

If it's worth anything, I remembered your ship. Douglas, ain't it? I think I might've served on it for a while there. Feels like a mighty long time ago now. Aw, well. Plenty more to talk about at the Drunkard.

He began to construct a message pertaining that he had already arrived. The reply read,

Hello there again Miss Hartman,

Served on the Douglas? Well, this is really interesting. Suffice to say, I have already arrived and await your arrival. And please keep things a wee-bit quiet, okay? I don't want any complications regarding my job and position in a certain organization.

And tell me, ah, is there something you wish to eat and/or drink? Well, I am feeling a bit hungry. Hehe, well, don't keep me waiting.

Satisfied with the message, he stood up and ordered a bottle of wine from the bartender. Oddly enough, the bartender asks, [font=Verdana][color=#33FFFF]"Eh, not the usual people order that."

The freelancer replies, "Well lets just say I'm the exception, Eh?" He discreetly hands the bartender a "large" tip.

"Well thank ye, good sir. Will it be Classic or Exotic?", to which the freelancer replies, "Exotic?? I've never heard of exotic wine... Ah well. I'll try the exotic one."

"Excellent choice!" The bartender walks out of the bar and into a backroom. He comes out with a old-looking bottle with a name called "Chardonnay".

"Ah! Perfect, I thought you were planning on 'poisoning' me."
"No no no! Mister, I kept this one for those exceptional people. Enjoy!"

And with that, the freelancer smiles at the bartender and graciously thanks him for the bottle. He motions for two glasses and carefully goes back to his table.

"This should be interesting...", taking off the cork and pouring one for himself. Swirling the glass he quietly announces, "Noblesse Oblige"

[Anna Blanca]

As the men came sitting next to her,
She took another swig from her drink and stared a little in front of her.

"Yes?"

With a slight annoyance in her voice.

[Aazalot]

Moving out of his eagle, Voncloud sighed, it had been busy in Bretonia, and he needed just sometime to get away from it, Barrier Gate always just seemed to be a comfort to him due to its neutrality to pretty much everything, including himself. Removing his helmet and gear, he was left in just his usual Long red coat, trousers and boots.
Tiredly he plods towards the Lone Drunkard, steeling himself as he entered public view again, as he walks in, he doesnt even take the moment to check whos there, going straight to the bar, his fox tail flicking behind him, ears perking this way and that, as the light of the bar shimmers off his gunmetal grey fur and hair.
Parking himself on a stool, he coils his tail around himself and leans forwards holding up a single paw finger "ill take a line of jeigabombs" He requests, sounding as tired as he looked.

[Commissar]

A waitress scuttled around the bar, managing to look busy, but seemingly accomplishing little else. A close observer would notice that she'd dried the same glass six times now. Brown hair hung low across her face, not quite concealing her eyes, which were focused on the rest of the bar. As the 'freelancer' keyed away at his data pad, the waitress nonchalantly stepped around the bar, revealing a pistol slung loosely on her hip, and sat down opposite him. Her own jeans were slightly more battered partially covered, as they were, by a simple buttoned-shirt.

She watched the man opposite her swirl his drink, the red liquid teetering dangerously close to the corners of the glass.
"You do know where you are, right Sir?" She asked, regarding him with amusement. "If that's how you drink all the time, I'm right amazed they haven't strung you up yet."

She settled into the chair, rotating idly for a moment until she found a suitably comfortable position. As she shifted, the bar's lights temporarily illuminated her face, and an oddly pale line etching its way across her nose. The Xeno gestured casually to the data pad.

"You rang?

Silves continued politely, "Gareth. I just wanted to apologize in person for not jumping into to help you with that scrap outside. I couldn't shake the thought of the Casts sealing me off from home the next time I pass through Kusari if they decided to retaliate. But that wouldn't have stopped me in the past, and it shouldn't have now. So, my apologies miss.

"And if you'll have it, why don't I buy you a drink for that fine flying of yours and you can tell me why the four of them decided to jump you anyway?"

The ever-gallant Dementia, a luxury liner that belongs to Dr. Ray D'Inverno, a freelancing researcher, has just finished the mooring procedures at the Barrier Gate.

Ray already knew the place - if you need to find trustworthy freelancers in need of a good job, they'd be here. Not to mention absolutely random interesting people here and there.

And there was a good job to offer.

He moved through the station's commotion, finally reaching a place known as the Lone Drunkard - despite the name, the pub was very decent, letting a security camera take a picture of him on the way - a picture of a relatively old man, 63 years old according to his publically availible info, his hair almost completely turning gray, a small but noticeable scar on his cheek.

The researcher found a free table by one of the walls, ordered a Sangria cocktail and began to browse information on his datapad, sometimes looking for people that seemed at least mildly interesting...

Discovery's Resident Lagnom

[Aazalot]

Voncloud waited for his drinks, the Foxs tail uncoiled from him and swished side to side lazially, like the pendulum of a clock. After a moment, what seemed like a plank of would with 5 Glasses was presented to him, it was an old custom from where he came from, although he didnt know it himself, he knew each time he had a line of jeigabombs it was on aplank of wood. Taking in abreath he began to down each shot in turn, a shake of his head as the kick went down his neck, holding up his paw "another line"

[Anna Blanca]

She bottomed up her drink holding the glass a bit firmly.

"You know I don't think it's any of your business really."
"If it wasn't for those Outcasts I wouldn't even be here."
"I would be enjoying my life with Jake on Freeport 10 in Tau-37."
"But hey you can't have everything in life."

She looked up and a smile appeared on her face.

"But that everything, I only need one best thing and I already have that."

She looked down at a ring around her finger as she dreamed off a little with her eyes.
Thinking about Jake her fiance.

"I got Jake and that's all I need."

She stood up from her chair giving Gareth a short pat on his shoulder.

"No need to apologize, I'm used to it."

She nodded at Gareth.
Being on the point of leaving the bar to return to her apartment on Barrier.
Where Jake was at.

[Diomedes]

"Amen to that," Gareth replied, nodding in acknowledgement of Anna's choice not to open up.

The privateer smiled a bit as she talked about Jake, and took a deep swallow of rye, downing it along with memories,
"Hold him close, and enjoy every minute miss. But I'm sure you know that already."

Anna finally rose, touching Gareth's shoulder. Gareth emptied his glass in one swallow.

"No miss, that would be the worst excuse to not apologize. You have it and it's sincere, as little as it might be worth."

Finally Gareth returned her nod as she began to leave, "All the best out there Miss Prentice," almost simultaneously he waved a signal to the bartender, for a triple this time. Gareth knew he was letting the politics and the situations out in space get to him too much. He had to just get out there and fight as he saw was right, just like he did back in his infantry days. He needed to stop thinking so much and just rely on his instincts, values and training. Something told him the next brawl would be different.

The man looked up and smiled, "Excellent timing, my dear."
He put aside his datapad and said, "I'm a very busy man concerning my position in a *coughs* certain organization." With that he reached for the other glass and pours it an instant, almost like a master bartender. He then hands it to Jane.

"As for security, I've come prepared.", he looks behind the Xeno and winks toward an unknown person. Jane looks behind but by the time she scouts the persons sitting behind them, all of them resumed their supposedly normal business.

"So, you say you served on the Douglas before? Can you please expound on that subject?", he smiles again, this time taking a sip of his drink.
