"I see...so it's not really something you can get bored about. Good, I suppose."

He nodded at Willis and glanced at the DSE logo. 'Reminds me a bit of my past', Ian thought and kept looking at the logo for a few seconds.

"Have been a mechanic in my younger ages...a hard job you have there."

Ian then glanced at Amanda, who asked him about his 'job' and thought for a bit.

"Well. I am currently stationated in the inner defense of Liberty. Taking care of the bigger troubles out there, escorting, securing the lanes and so on. To make sure the people can stay safe. Mostly doing that together with the LPI and LSF."

He glanced around for a moment and slightly smiled to himself. He would look back at them as soon as he would say something.

"But sometimes ground patrolling as well..."

Evan polished off his drink and packed the tools away again, holding his left arm in front of him with the wrist-comm attached.
He stared at it for a moment before pressing the small red button, switching on the display and holo-keyboard. He waited a moment as the device booted up as his AI began to work alongside the computer's own codes, and the device became fully opperational.
Holo keyboard adjustment successful, I should be able to re-calibrate the holo-projection for self-manifestation as I had hoped. The AI whispered into Evan's mind. Give me a minute to reprogram.
He switched off the holo-keyboard, leaving the device online. "I need another drink." Evan muttered, standing up from the table and glancing at the bar. Most of the people around were there but he saw a clear space and walked over.
"Another drink thanks, something a bit stronger than the ale?"

"Have been a mechanic in my younger ages...a hard job you have there."

Willis nodded as Ian spoke those words, a recognition of the respect he had just earned with that simple statement. Willis then spied a quick look across at Amanda, to gauge her reaction as Ian continued.

Willis took another sip of his drink. He liked to think he was capable of looking after himself during most field operations. But there had been times when the navy's presence had pulled his backside out of the fire, and for that they held his uptmost respect. "Well I for one am grateful we have dedicated pilots like yourself watching our backs."

He nodded at Willis with a slight smile. Ian knew it is a much more dangerous life in the Liberty Navy than somewhere else in this House. He took a sip of his drink and looked at the liquid in the glass for a moment, thinking.

"Although...we all depend on each other. On what we are doing, those who supply us and what not. So everyone who is working honest helps one's own security. We just use the 'recources' you give us."

He said as he looked back up at both of them, Amanda and Willis, and emptied his glass of water. He placed it on the table and waited for a reaction, curious about what they would say.

Amanda grinned. "Yeah, well, I guess without the folk making the ships and stuff you wouldn't be able to do much... Doesn't change the fact that you lot usually are good pretty pilots though." Amanda shook her head, tempted to ask a question, but deciding against it.

She watched him put the glass on the table, "You want another drink? Its my round" she finished her drink and put the glass on the table before glancing over towards Willis waiting to see if he needed a refill as well.

The sight of Ian's empty glass prompted Willis to finnish his. A seasoned drinker, It would take quite a few more drinks before Willis called it a night.

"You want another drink? Its my round"

Willis pushed his now empty glass towards the center of the table to meet Ian's.

"Well, since your buying," he said, staring back at Amanda with a cheeky grin on his face.

Willis was very much anti-social by nature, But Amanda's presence put his people phobia at ease. The fact that Willis was still at the table made it clear that he had found comfort outside his normal comfort zone. He was actually starting to enjoy the company of strangers and collegues alike, a warm feeling that had been absent most of his adult life.

Ian nodded at what Amanda answered him but slightly shrugged. After all he knew that even a good pilot can fail and even spill blood of innocents by doing a slightest mistake. Sunk in his thoughts for a bit, he then glanced up at the girl as she asked if he wanted another drink. He slightly smiled at her and nodded.

"Why not. If you insist..."

He joked a bit and slightly winked at her. After all he found some people he could talk to, at least.

The wrist-comm screen flickered still as, internally, the reprogramming and adjustments continued. Occasionally the holo-display would flicker as well, creating small shapes made of green light above the device as Evan continued to wait by the bar for his drink.

Gradually the shapes displayed by the Holo-interface slowly became more intricate and complex as it began to finish diagnostics. Glancing at the Bartended, Evan was about to ask for that drink again only to realise that he was behind the back counter opening a crate of fresh stock, so Evan waited, glancing around the bar again, occasionally overhearing snippets of conversation unintentionally.

Amanda nodded and stood up, walking over to the bar. "One each of what those two are having, and..... Ah, may as well get the same as last time for me" The barman looked up at her, with a slightly annoyed look on his face. She couldn't help but laugh 'Not my fault...' She pulled over a stool and sat at the bar, waiting for him to finish what he was doing and get the drinks.

She looked over at Evan with some interest. "New here?" She grinned and waited for his response.

Evan had been watching the holo-display while waiting, his eyes fixed on the gradually more complex test-shapes appearing above the wrist-comm. He jumped as he heard a voice next to him ordering some drinks, and turned to glance at the speaker.

"New here?" she asked.
"In a way. A lot of things are different to how I once knew them some years ago."

He smiled back nervously and extended his hand, forgetting for a moment the humming of the wrist-comm attached to the arm and just trying to be friendly.
"Name's Evan K'vori, miss..?"
