Cable connection that is giving me a ping of 115 ms with verrrrrryyyyyyy little lag or fluctuation.
Now my problem is that when I play Freelancer, I get an unstable game performance. A one moment I lag as if I was getting a 10 FPS frame rate from the video card. Then a few moments later, I run at 60 fps (maximum allowed by FL) only to go back at 10 fps a few seconds later and on and on and on.
The odd part is that such issue only happens with Freelancer. My other games such as Crysis 1 & 2, Far Cry 2, Civilization, Dirt 2, etc are stable and get good framerates.
Now here's the twist, if I try to record a FRAPS video while playing FL all my lag goes away instantaneously, and that is even when I record at the highest FPS the recorder allows. Once the recording stops (after 30 seconds) the lag comes back.
Try an older driver in the 9.xx series. This is most likely a driver issue.

The spec should not be a problem, it over-passed the requirments by a -LOT- more.
You should be able to play the game on the Highest and beyond... still, I remember a friend of mind that had a somewhat same issue.
Whenever he started FL his anti-virus started scanning making it impossible for him to play.
Deletion of that anti-virus fixed the entire problem. And FL FPS can go over 60, I dunno how, mine it just does or that is what Fraps tells me.
