"I see you remember that one bottle of tequila is not enough for me..."
A grin followed when she pointed at the JD bottle.
"And yeah, I like oranges, but you also know that I prefer to enjoy drinks without them."
She took another gulp from the tequila bottle.
"Cupcake...I still wonder, how you came to that nickname. I thought about it over and over again and never really found a fitting reason. But eh, that's not so important, say how have you been the past weeks? It's been some time since we've met each other."
Darrell Sears sneaked into the crowded bar, glancing around the place looking for any known face -and somebody he could stand-. Given the negatory of his expectations, he ordered a bottle of whatever cheap booze they served there and sat on a stool near one of the corners, placing a foot on another stool.
"Can smell Outcast blood from here, damnit" He grimaced and casted a malicious glance at the bartender. Then he noticed the presence of the Executive Commander in the bar, quickly cooling down his temper.
"Uh, damn. In before inspection of troops." He emptied his glass and kept scanning the place.
Samuel cracked a loud laugh as Dagon slammed down his drink, and instantly started hitting on the Executive Commander.
"Leave some ladies for the rest of us, Dagon. One's as pretty as that one are hard to come by."
Beumont chuckled again as he blew a cloud of smoke in Dagon's direction. His attention was suddenly by Star Captain Sears as he saw him sneak in from one of the side doors. The word that caught his attention was 'Outcast'. He didn't care much for his genes, but he couldn't get away from them no matter how much he tried. He nervously mashed the end of his cigar into the booth's ashtray and made his way for the door, tossing the waiter a credit chit for a 1,000 credits.
Meallan's smirk was evident. That girl hasn't changed at all.
"I love oranges too."
He suddenly sat next to her, grabbed an empty glass and poured some of the whisky.
"Let's discuss about it."
Her laughter was welcome and refreshing to say the least. A lot of months in hell made sure he would treasure all the good moments he could get from there on.
"But seriously.. You don't like 'cupcake'.. Cupcake? Because, you know.. I love cupcakes. And i'm fine.. Could be better."
He smirked again but looked at her with weary eyes.
"Well, people always called me 'The girl from Crete', or similar stuff, when I was young. I hated it from the very beginning and whenever you called me 'Cupcake' it reminded me of it."
He smirked and ordered anothe bottle of Jack Daniels. Not soon afterwards the bartender brought one and two clean glasses. As Meallan opened it and filled the glasses with the gold like liquid, he asked:
"Long night? Where are you planning to end it?"
His grin was evident as it was the joke.
"I jest, i jest."
Meallan gulped the contents of his glass.
"Although.. I can't lie that i want mine to end with you."
He waited the reply of his Executive Commander, almost expecting the worse. To crash and burn.
