He's not hating Wolf. His reaction is a justified one based on the past encounters he and a lot of other Bretonian people have had with Murphy. He is not alone in his evaluation of Murphy. Especially considering Murphy threw one of his "rage and insult excessively" fits against Jack just the other day. A fit, combined with another towards a GRN member (it happened to Jack in the IDF chat), that got Murphy kicked out of the GRN|.

This comes after he hijacked the Bretonian Government forum account and refused to return it. This is why a new one had to be made. Needless to say, he's no longer in the government and is not welcome back.

That after he made many many rage and insult fits towards the government members, who had been incredibly patient in regards to his antics.

That after causing many diplomatic incidents for Bretonia that the government had to fix, because he was launching forays into the then-friendly Rheinland space with IAB) tagged ships, getting caught, insulting Rheinland officials. Then he was insulting IMG officials. Then he was insulting just about every other person who could find.

That after he finally left BAF| and the huge amount of members from it that he had unjustifiably kicked when he "took over" got to return to a faction they had put a lot of work and effort into. We're still trying to fix all the problems that came about from it.

Murphy has left a trail of hate and bad feelings everywhere he has gone in the last two years. He's been burning bridges left and right.

I have given Murphy well over a dozen "second chances" throughout the last two years. I gave up when the government debacle happened.

If you want to make IAB, pick a different leader.

Yes.

Thank you, Dab. I think your explanation was better than anything I could have offered (except from posting some "best of" examples).

I thoroughly hope people read Dab's list. Because it has happened before, and it will happen again.

This thread is not a "Lets 'Take a dump' on Murphy"... Its about the faction, if you have nothing to comment on whats on the first post that does not ONLY evolve around the single line of "Leadership", then don't post.

I won't give a satisfactory reply to a personal hate on anyone.

At this moment in time, the faction will be run by who is stated in the OP. Your comments won't change that.

If you don't like Murphy, go make your own IAB with blackjack and hookers.

I'm not taking a dump on Murphy. And this isn't personal hate. I don't hate people on the internet, it's a waste of time. Do I like him? No. But I don't hate him. But do I know it's a bad thing for him to lead a faction in Bretonia, given past history? Yes. And considering he's to be the leader of this faction, any concerns about him are very much valid for a faction creation request. This was covered in the original IAB faction request.

A faction leader is -the biggest- concern of a new faction. It's just as important as the write up, if not more. You can ignore that all you want, but it won't change the fact that there are many people who will not support this faction taking shape with Murphy at the helm. This isn't because of hate, it's because of what they have see Murphy do. Everyone has consequences for their actions, Murphy is no different.

And before you go "conspiracy", or "hate" (more), or "Dab just wants to run Bretonia", you should ask Murphy how he came to be the Bretonian Intelligence Director when the first IAB was created.

To an extent, they already did. The BIS already exists as a BAF sub-faction.

The leader is a very important part of the faction. As an example, Dakun's Zoner factions. Whenever he writes something, the community will pile-dive on it with waves of ridicule. Even if he wrote something remotely sensible it would be. It's seems vaguely hypocritical that one faction can be critisised due to its choice in leader, but another can't.

It really is not hard to write up a fantastic faction proposal (especially when Avalanche is doing it for you). It's not the faction status sheet that you see above that makes a good faction. It's the attitude of the leader, which in turn determines the attitude of the membership.

Like I said - I've no feelings either way regarding this faction, but people commenting on the leadership are providing valid feedback. To deny that is simply covering your ears and singing songs to ignore them.

In reply to your PM, we aren't going to just accept a Gunboat... You'll be in a snub.

What is the benefit for a faction to be took over or merge with BAF|, except no need for maintaining official status given there is one for Armed Forces? Well, in other words I ask 'bout the structure of those merged factions.

I prefer to see the factions separated, it somehow gives each one of them more freedom - with all the following and more opportunities for controversy between intelligence and the army and so on. But I'd like to know how the merged things work. I mean, not like I ever heard of BIS doing something, siя.

I'd say that people providing feedback here create more controversy about people they do like or do not than about the faction proposal and the chances for it to work properly. Murphy's last IAB) was good as an ingame faction, that's the point, not the tensions between faction leaders in Bretonia and wherever.

It made it easier to manage, recruit for, and maintain, and gave it immediate official status, which is almost a necessity for an intelligence faction to have to operate fully.

BIS was made very recently, by request of many people in the BAF and other Bret lawful factions. It's still in its startup phase, delayed because of the Omega conflicts and the massive grinding on dev work I've had to do recently. Separated or merged both work equally well, and given the history of the BIS and all factions that have used its ID, it makes sense in-RP for it to come under the control of the military, which is further explained in its writeup.

The faction leader is part of the faction proposal, and probably the single most important part of a proposal. As such, any issues and feedback raised concerning who the leader is is perfectly valid and very important.

As for IAB as an in-game faction, there were a very large number of issues in fact. Issues that caused diplomatic problems with other nations and factions.
