that would be good, and yes, patriot Mk. II is called liberator. Insurgent sounds good to me, fits in with the light, speedy nature.

Anyway, the coalition would probably give it a Russian name. We'd probably stick the enemy's nickname for it on the infocards, though.

Good point, although the soviets were always kinds of realists about that kind of thing... what was the name of the groups that held out behind german lines in ww2? they had a name, I just can't remember it.

If you are looking for names, why not giving them some from Starlancer?
And i'm sure in the soviet history you will find many others.

The groups were the partisans.

If using Starlancer names, we'd have to make them look like their namesakes, wouldn't we... which will be awkward for Xing, eh?

'Partisan' is a good name. 'Rebel' is overly generic I think.
