Far out, Why does everyone assume that "Can we have the cool ships that they stole from open use back?" means "Can Has terrywrist ID now KTHX?" The only thing that I am really asking is are they going to bin the nice ships or are we going to get them back? and I do agree that the textures are a bit meh, but I think that the lovely angular intimidating shapes could be the start of the proposed general use pirate line, like for indie pirates.

If Phantoms are inactive, then can't someone make the faction again? I mean, if IC| goes unofficial, Joe Blow could start up a new IC| faction and make it official, why with the Phantoms?

Phantoms aren't the same type of faction that IC| is. IC| doesn't have a terrorist ID. Phantoms do. Phantoms are not inactive, they don't exist any longer as a player faction. Admins said no to people trying to create a new Phantoms. It is up to the development team what happens to the Phantom stuff.

I doubt it will be removed for the reasons already stated in this thread. Though I don't see why it wouldn't be plausible for this server to run a modified version of 4.86 where Phoom ships are merely civilian models and their bases are missing. I doubt that is very high on development priority list though, 4.86 is the priority.
