Two days ago, as I launched from Fort Bush, I received a call from Pilot Laviene who needed assistance. As I closed in on Manhattan I encountered a Liberty Rogue tagged and ID'ed Raven's Talon, piloted by Golden.Aim.
Considering that my Patriot was no match against a Mk VII armored Raven's Talon, I sent a distress call to the =LSF= and [SA] ships practicing in Connecticut.
To distract the Rogue and gain some time until my reinforcements arrived, I asked him what he thought he was doing here; when he said that if I left him in peace he would be friendly, and that the "police was so nice", I opened fire on him and took out his shields by 50% before he returned fire.
Dodging his shots (he had several CERBERUS code weapons installed), I managed to survive long enough until the wing of =LSF= and [SA] fighters arrived via the Trade Lane from Connecticut jump hole. Being heavily outnumbered, the Rogue tried to fast-dock at the Trade lane to Westpoint, but I disabled the trade lane and he was quickly blown to pieces by combined fire.
I want to compliment the assisting pilots Liquid, Saber and Arazima Fezim on their fast and brave reply to my distress call, it was just like from the schoolbook.

Engineering & Maintenance Department informs all LPI officers that previous information posted about faulty scanner systems was not accurate. The latest field tests have shown no abnormal behavior of the standard issue scanners when dealing with any type of approved cargo containers including Slavers Union proprietary shielded cargo pods. We are investigating the source of the original misinformation. In the meantime, you shall treat all data from your standard issue scanners as correct and deal accordingly with any ships not complying with the Liberty Smuggling and Trafficking Act.

Today, during my routine patrol I have been attacked by a Xeno at Colorado Jump gate. Tough fighter as I am, I managed to gain the upper hand in the fight and was about to get rid of him like brushing a fruit fly off my arm, but three more Xenos jumped in. In all my courage I havent even thought of retreating to Fort Bush and heroically brought the fight to all 4 of the Xenos, before accidentally left one single opening and was tractored by a tresspassing convoy. Next time the Xenos wont be so luckily and I will dispatch them in a single wave.

Tom Jonas stomps into Sunbucks with a face like thunder it's clear he's had a bad day, and it looks like it's only gonna get worse.
The Barrista asks if he's okay and Tom just crumbles.
"I was patrolling my regular route trade lane circle Manhattan to Bush to Norfolk to Westpoint, and this Xeno, ID Tempo comes out from behind Manhattan and starts tearing the place up, I call to LSf and SA but well, they're nowhere to be found probably playing wargames in Conneticut, anyway I hold my own for about ten minutes, not bad as far as I'm concerned I'm only in a patriot, this mother's in an Eagle. Anyway fight goes south fairly swiftly after I run out of bats. But Command say that I gotta pay for the fighter as I wasn't able to hold off the Xeno til the big boys could get there, they weren't even coming!"
He finally pauses for breath to realise that the barrista has already left. Those seated at the tables around him know it was just after the words "I was patrolling"
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
"OK folks," Matt Myers starts. "There's a new Sunbucks down the block, and they got better sales and discounts for the men in blue... us. It's here, and I think we should go there from now on. I am, and I have a few issues that need discussing there that won't be discussed here. relaxing in his seat after devouring those amazing donuts he glances at the clock spits out his coffee and says im late gotta get back to patrol and headed out to continue his day
Having had quite enough of being called out to duel by pirates who clearly weren't of the regular caliber, and having been chased round New York by a fleet of marauding Hellfire Legion, Buck Frost stopped for coffee. Frost wondered if he could issue a citation for public health against the cockroach riddled kitchen, but then decided that friendly conversation might solicit a better response.
As it turned out, a blind eye was well fed and Frost walked out with a large box of fresh donuts, dripping with glaze. The boys at the precinct would enjoy those.
In recent weeks, Doug had found himself spending more and more of his evenings at Sunbucks on Fort Bush. Just one year back, he still used to work in a small planet-side security establishment on Manhattan, and rarely got the chance to fly out into space, not to mention doing so beyond the orbit of his home planet.
Now, things had changed. The new employment in space had a huge impact on his life and habits. No longer did he return to his rented apartment at night - one he had cancelled in exchange for a cheap room on Fort Bush by now - and no longer did he visit his mother Liz every day. Not that it was an impossibility, but the coffee bar had something more appealing, the feeling of something different. Somewhere between the cruel shifts and the laughable pay, he liked it. He was out in space, he had the exciting routine of an officer and was flying a fast ship all but his own. That was what he signed up for, after all.
And after a stressful day of chasing Liberty's scum, there was nothing better than to spend the evening with fellow officers in this cozy place that had almost turned into a third home. On many days, he could be found sitting in the very same spot, talking to friends, exchanging stories, drinking coffee. When there was nobody to talk to, he would always find a way to entertain himself with that tablet, be it Hoverball 820, Grand Theft Rhino or the newest issue of Snub Racer. It was only on his rest days now that he returned to visit his mother on Manhattan.
