Oh, and the energy turrets use way too much energy. BSs are supposed to have huge reactors that can supply the weapons with enough energy to last for at least 30 seconds. =/

I was in a LF and was able to take out his shields.... o.O

Not surprising, it only takes 3 or 4 shots from 4 nomad NPC fighters to drop a Player BS shield and start doing serious damage to it's hull (and thats with a mk 7 armour upgrade too).

My Dreadnaught has I think 8 Osiris guns, 2 BS missile turrets, and I think thats all. If it has 12 slots then I have 10 Osiris guns. I try to stick with havin real capital class guns on a capital-class ship. I don't use the cheap way of using fighter guns on a battleship.

Personally I think we should ban the use of fighter guns on all cap-ships except gunboats and the Huegenot.

OMG plz dont! I LOVE USING gunboat guns on my BS. they dont kill the energy and still pack a bit of punch... well i have a battlestar adv ^_^ i got like 2 battle razors,4 cerebrius gunboat turrets and 13 solaris turrets with 1 marzflyer turret... it works well for me. not a hardcore anti BS lot but is good for hunting nomads cause it can hit the fighters but it can also get the gunboats and battleships

PS my favorite place with the BattleStar Adv has to be unknown ( the one of gamma) near the plannets cause there r MANY nomad BSs ^_^

This is my signature.

as a new battleship owner, I might have something 2 say... What about ballancing the types of turrets a BS can mount? I mean, why not having anti-fighter, anti-BS and anti-whatever turrets? After all, a BS would have 2 defend itself from fighters....

Those are considered capital ship turrets. They aren't fighter turrets. :\

Anti-fighter = Solaris Chainguns, Missile Turrets. Anti-BS = Inferno Cannons, Battlerazors, Mortars. Anti-whatever = ??? What they heck does that mean?

well, we have

fighters - AntiFighter
Battleships - AntiBS
Whatever else- AntiWhatever

:) catch my drift?

but that wasn't the general idea. this is: since we have a battleship, a battleship can b alone out there, so it can b attacked by fighters and by capships too, any logic suggests u arm the battleship accordingly to that - or the battleship doesn't go around without escorts - simple. so when armed like that it should b able to face any threat encountered 'cause any BS would be armed in the same way - there's a way to bringing in some balance (i think). if u go put 20 turrets of the same kind on 1 ship... it is certain that it will quickly be destroyed by something it has no adequate weapons to fight with.

Er... I think there's a problem with your thinking, try fighting a rhienland BS with it's 21 turrets and all of them are solaris chainguns, you've got no chainguns just missiles, flak turrets, etc.

You'll be carved up pretty fast trust me, that is assuming chainguns can actually damage BS shields now  ...........
