-There is a mod, which implements that feature.
FLAK 88 I think.
-It does not work so well
-It is a minor cosmetic feature
-There is more stuff to do (webmission ftw!)

I have to vote noez again, good sir.

but i saw its cool and so realistic and living
if all about here to do stuff then no need of atmosphere and graphical work to do ,i think discovery deserve this nice feature .
But anyway your thinking:)

Well hope there will be a mod in future that can upgrade all fields of any Mod into dynamic one

Refer to this thread if you want to see the points again. There is no need for implementing such features imo.
Also: If you like to play with such an unrealistic function you should also notice the asteroids should/would deal huge amount of damage. So one impact with a fighter and you are dead because you wanted to ram an asteroid away. Keep in mind this is a RP server. And RP should have connections to something that looks realistic. If this feature is really going to be implemented, something I cannot imagine in my best dreams, then only with a massive mass which means you wouldn't be able to 'kick' them apart with a fighter because their weight is just too high and the huge structural damage it would deal. I wouldn't have a problem with that because this would mean less cap activity in such fields. But from server side: no. It would take too much performance I think.

ITd essentially make all asteroid fields extremely hazardous. Unless you let people shoot the asteroid, its pointless.

Cruising through would mean nearly insta-death for all vessels.

Hmm...it should be less damage in asteroid fields with smaller asteroids. An extreme example are the Badlands and the Ohka Dust Field in Kyushu in relation to each other. It is known the Badlands are very dangerous so therefor the damage should be very high, also because of the size of them. But the asteroids in the Ohka field should deal way less damage, than the black rocks in New York. They don't even have 1/10 of their size of the badlands asteroids.

But honestly. It would cause a lot of Q_Qing if players would know they can't enter asteroid fields any longer with their caps. I think it is no good idea to put something like this into Disco. Even if it would be realistic it would reduce the possibilities to act in such fields.

Don't get me wrong, I am a person who welcomes changes that make the game more realistic and exciting.

But sadly this feature causes way too much serverload.

Serverload leads to Lag, lag leads to anger, anger leads to ????,
which means NO Profit!
Period.

Ever played on a 88Flak server?

Yes i played on 88flak sever and i did not feel any lag or problem you mentioned , even in Asteroid fields.:)
