The next version doesn't start on New Year's Day. It's already 819 when .86 is released, right?* It can be assumed that it was 819 for a period before the calendar magically morphs forward by a year, three-quarters of the way through the year.

Considering this is a RP server, some people seem to have an incredibly hard time using their imagination. Then again, according to the poll, roughly 70% manage just fine.

EDIT: *Presuming they get it out before the Christmas holidays and New Year. Failing that, it'll be 820, not 819.

If for some reason I do have to say the year, I just say it's still 817 AS. I see no reason why we should deviate from the year that was established in 4.85 if we're still playing 4.85.

I find it curious that every person calling for the devs to "just change the infocards to 820" are all people who have never done extensive infocard work.

It does not take "a few hours".
