It certainly wouldn't be a good replacement for the Atlas, which is a nice large transport. Also, with existing Atlases losing half their cargo space, are there concerns about people getting slapped with "cheating detected" when their cargo hold is suddenly halved?
Yea. I expect most people currently using the Atlas to be dissatisfied with the replacement and sell it. I've submitted a second transport that'd actually be useful for players. Not sure if it'll make beta.

Dakun's roleplay was excellent; it was well-developed, had strong points of originality, had well-written, easy to read and funny backstories, wove itself together into a tapestry of stories, did not delve into the extremely prevelent powergaming seen in Disco, and, most importantly of all, it made fun of the french.
Misplaced? perhaps.
Overambitious? certainly.
Did they use Zoner ID's just for the Juggernaughts? Sure.
That does not change my belief that it was more original, and more believable, in my honest opinion, than the roleplay of all three official zoner factions (herein i do not count the Virulian Enclave as a Zoner faction).
After all, shall we count them off?
Number one: Import of a religion.
Number two: Fairly bland corporation, which, while certainly full of good folk, is rather simple.
Number three:.......The Omicroners......hmmm. Those who are familiar with the charges laid against them have heard all the arguments, those who have not.....well, you'll be fine.
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
Make all Battleships closed to official factions, and can be granted to indies with permission only (of the official faction, or in case of lack of it by the admins) And discovery will finally be RP server. No more 100 BS with 3 fighter escorts.
First admins declare spyglasses open use, which for their beauty, is awesome thing to have. So I bought one, for stunning 790 million credits.
I expect you to refund me the cost, ill give you the ship for your HAPPINESS to use it.
FIrst you go around, WE NO HAKRZ then you simply claim the ship. Thats wonderful of you, great and awesome. Why you let admins make it public in first place? Was that intentional scam on players to waste their cash on the ships so you can OLOL NO U CAN HAZ WE NO HAKRZ BUT TIZ OUR SHIPZ GTFO.
LAst time I asked one of you HF guys about whats the best RP dock location and use of the hacker battleship, I was simply arrogantly told
Dunno we are not hackers.
WEll done on your part.

All nyx permissions will be void since all current will turn IMG VHF. So no more fancy I can haz nyx for anybody, reavers included. Suck on that;)
to be fair - i distinctly remember cannon ( or maybe another admin - but i think it was cannon ) - say that the spyglass was "unlocked" till 4.86 - so that players could go nuts with it till then - so when they unlocked it - it was already said that the future status of it was at best - uncertain.
i cannot / don t want to search for that statement now - but i m fairly sure it was said.
i cannot remember how the spyglass started ( HF or LH ) ... but it took the path of the dominant faction. - i further doubt that anything will be refunded ... cause players have lost ships with pretty much every update so far - and ships were never refunded.
admins usually grant a generous grace period to get rid of it ( usually some 3 months give or take a few days ) .... it happened to the lib rogues before, to ppl who had the huntress cruiser, - basicly to every player who faced his ship of choice being claimed by one faction or another - or moved to another faction for balance purposes.
@pencakes:
it gets tiring a bit - statistics still show that there are a lot less cruisers / battlecruisers / battleships on the server than other ships ( roughly less than 10% are CR, BC, BB ) .... spamming is mostly seen by people who WANT to see spamming of ship types.
so i think we should better rely on the statistics - which currently say that there are like 10 times more snubs out there than capital warships. - and if you happen to run into a bunch of battleships on your journeys - enjoy the thought that somewhere else - other players enjoy a total and utter void of capital warships entirely.
in other words - it has always been a policy not to give players too much power, cause they happen not to be very responsible with it ( meaning - they mistake personal for important - and make decisions based on personal feelings rather than RP backgrounds )
the recent attempt to limit a shiptype ( zoner caps - which was also not to keep them for officials and take them from indies - but it was a fair one to make equal rules for both, indies and officials alike ) was rejected. - with - after all ... good reason.
edit: experience shows that :
- people often separate a community in "us" and "them" - and generously place themselves on the "us" side
- "us" being associated with "good", "them" being associated with "bad"
- so ppl tend to ask to have toys taken away from "them" - but "us" are the responsible ones who should be allowed the toys.
- sometimes they say that they are not interested in the toys at all - but it turns out that in the very case that they "might" be interested in it at some time .... they will of course expect to be treated as one of "us" - who get their wishes approved.
what follows are networks of players ( not characters ) who curry favours, brown nose and make deals with skype friends to get what they want - which is hardly the spirit of a RP server.
keep in mind - the choice of a ship you want it NOT a priviledge! - it is a right... . ( well - in 99% of the cases that is )

...
As far as I know, the HF had no say in the decision. Do you think that we'd voluntarily let people run free with the ship which is essentially the crown jewel of our fleet?
Everything in this game costs credits. Well, actually, it doesn't cost credits. It costs time. So if you're complaining about the credits you're going to lose, you're really complaining about the time you voluntarily spent playing this game. I am fairly certain that there was a warning posted when they opened the use of the Spyglass - that it was temporary, and in 4.86 they would be taken away.
I don't know what you're complaining about - the HF are not Hackers, and have never really been Hackers. (If you want to discuss the genesis of the HF, that's not my place to say since I don't know all the details.) The Spyglass was never a Hacker ship. Calling it a Hacker Battleship is incorrect in the extreme - it was always the signature HF ship.
The HF have not set out to be intentionally malicious to players by tricking them into buying the Spyglass. That is fictional nonsense - such an attitude is very low and underhanded, and not one that I believe characterises the current HF leadership.
I do not believe that there is any arrogance on our behalf. I genuinely would not know the best place for a Hacker to dock a Capital Ship; and as for roleplay (which is not PvP-roleplay) I honestly can't think of anything better than sitting 200K above the plane in Magellan and using the superior comms arrays to hack neural net accounts and read peoples' emails.
