I just found out what my 18th birthday present will be. It's a ship! My dad told me to wake up early tomorrow because we're heading off planet and the only time when he's going off planet is when he's dealing with ships! I'm so excited! I searched Net for some models and this is the one I want. It's fast and it looks great and I heard I can customize it's lights. There's no regulation about that! I want them red! Jeanne Voclain, you're going to roll in style from now on. I can't wait to see Mirreile when I'll appear with this baby above our school!

On a side note, I started this journal because I want to note down everything I see and do in space. I even changed the format from my old journal. That was kids stuff. I will write down the date and location at the top... oui, c'est bien!

Java Station, 17 Juin 737

Two months ago I had a fight with my parents. It was on a video call. They were accusing me that I'm spending too much time in space, neglecting my studies. Well, studies suck! What will I do with studies about biology in this life? Nothing! On the other hand, space is something that's worth studying.

So I decided to leave Gallia and study on my own. The Universe is amazing and I know nothing about it. Now I have the chance to find out a few things about the Sirius sector. I know we're at war with most of the people that live there but I'll manage to do something to take care of me. Oh, right, I also emptied my parents' bank account and outfitted my ship with some weapons... Sirian weapons that I bought from a smuggler. Thing is... I don't know. My ship doesn't really work well with them. I think I'll try to find another ship.

Now, let me tell you about all those places that I've been to. So, I headed to Rishiri system. I know that Kusari is a loyal vassal state and nothing wrong could have happened there. It was a very emotional moment. First time I was leaving Gallia.

The first sirian I met was a tipical kusarian. He had everything, from the voice, to those strange eyes, exactly like I read at school about asians back in Sol. He was the traffic controller on Misaki Station. Misaki is a big station, a trade node between Kusari and Gallia. I can't say it's a nice place. There are around 60 people working on the station; a lot more busy traders and businessmen that come and go every second. I had to wait like 30 minutes to be able to dock there. So, I left and I had two options. Option one was towards Hokkaido jump gate and further into Kusari, towards its capital, New Tokyo. Option two was towards the northern system of Nagano. I went north.

Nagano is a newly discovered system. Samura, one of Kusari biggest corporations established a base of operations on Planet Tomioka. It's a beautiful new world. I saw paddy fields for the first time. I also ate some traditional food at a local restaurant. The people there are very hospitable. Most of them are hard working farmers that chose this remote world when the economy collapsed a few years back. Since then, they grow their own food and live on their own. It's a nice place and they say I'll be welcomed when I'll be back.

They also pointed me to a location on the system map where I would find a jump hole to another system: Tau-37. I knew from the news that the Tau systems saw some action when our fleets moved in against the sirian terrorists but I took my chances. Tau-37 is a... bright system. The first thing I managed to see after my eyes got used to the intense light was a small zoner instalation called Freeport 10. Now these zoners are very... strange people. To my understanding they left their houses of origins and ventured into the wilds of space only to live by their own rules... Actually... I think I just described myself.

Anyway... from there I found another jump hole to a system called Tau-39. My computer had no information about this system but I found a couple of IMG bases in it. IMG or Independent Miners Guild is a... guild of miners. Haha... It's an old organization with its roots in Bretonia (terrorist house) that cut its ties with the house government. Now they are the largest mining company in Sirius. They are also our... slaves? Nah, that word is too strong. They're our vassals.

After visiting IMG I found yet another jump hole. This one led to Tau-44. Eh... now this is a lesson I learned for an exam at school. Tau-44 belonged to the Colonial Republic. These guys were a mini-house of Sirius. When our king decided to start a preventive offensive against Sirius, the colonials were offered peace since they didn't sabotage our sleeper ship back on Sol because they were long gone. They are the pioneers of interstellar jump and left Sol even before the Alliance - Coalition War. Anyway, with the peace offer on the table, the colonials refused! Seems that they had been corrupted by the sirians after all. They were crushed by our war machine and the few remaining survivors ran in Liberty or I don't know where. They don't matter anymore, anyway.

And from here I moved to Tau-23. I won't describe Tau-23. It's a very dark system, lots of asteroids. Not the best place to live in. I will go back to Kusari in a few days. The problem is I'm running out of money so I need a job. I'll try to scout for some traders. I heard that's an easy way of making money.
