A good movie that I just watched after not having seen it for a long time is The City of Lost Children. It's a french film, but can easily be found in english (Why are all the films I find always in some wierd language?) Anyway, the film is basically this strange interprative look at a industrial revolution style future, where the evil creation of a mad scientist is kidnapping children in an attempt to steal their dream. However, one of these kids has a big brother... A big, BIG brother (played by one of my favorite actors, Ron Perlman), who goes looking for him. The setting created for this movie is pretty amazing, it's both wierd and enchanting at the same time. The movie really embraces its fairy-tale aspects, and doesn't shy away from them in favor of realism. It's a neat film for those who want something whimsical, but not childish. I'd highly reccomending seeing it, even if it doesn't sound like the kind of thing you'd like. At least you can walk away from it going "Huh... That was wierd... but cool!"
