Of course, in Liberty there's an LNS on standby 24/7.

But trading requires venturing out to more remote, dangerous areas. Border worlds, omegas and the like. This is where the problem lies.

You basically have to sneak around with your pants around your ankles and hope that no-one will notice.

I get offers of escorts in Penn whenever I'm there with my cargo ship. Sometimes get an offer in Manhattan. Nowhere else though and I rarely go to either Penn or Manhattan with that ship.

PS--and GB must keep CD because its the primary defense against boimbers that spam mines and torps

My Barghest is set up for taking on Liberty more than for piracy, hence I have no CD mounted. My torp slots are the SNAC and the Nova Torpedo. Do I ever miss having a CD on it? not really. I find my set up to be better for what I use it for and that having a CD would take away from my ability to kill lib caps.

Then again, I don't think in the same terms as most of the lolpirates on this server. I use my pirates to RP, not to become rich.

Or just stay in auto pilot and wait until the pirate makes a mistake and forgets to shoot the lane. But either way, it's extremely easy ot avoid a single pirate even on a one-way lane (cali for example).

Gunboats: I'm tempted to say yes. They are anti-fighter support for heavier craft in their primary purpose so they do not really need disruptors. Although given that retreating craft may reengage at will, having the ability to stall and destroy an opponent may be neccesary now. Another direct consequence would be that for solo piracy a gunboat would be useless.

As for the bomber: Definately not. Bombers are designed to destroy targets at range - so they need to keep their target at range. If anything can just cruise up to them... I'd sooner add a dedicated disruptor slot to all bombers, giving heavy bombers 3 torpedo slots and light bombers 2 to work with. Especially with the extra variety in bomber weapons coming soon.

I like this idea. It cripples some heavy, powerful ships. I don't hate those ships, and this will actually make piracy more stacked against the traders, because what this means is that if you want to stop a person from using engine kill, or cruising away, you have to bring a friend. (maybe you should give lf -two- cds) This encourages teamplay. Teamplay is a +.
