i dont think there was one hes just overly pesimistic.
on a side note hearing one thing you disagree with would not ruin your whole outlook on a game or else you probably shouldent be playing because you are bound to get disapointed at some time or another.
The only problem I see with this is that say VR for example, We started out as a Lane Hacker made faction, then LH told us to get lost, so we did, then we became friends with OC per our RP.
The problem is what about our Battleships and stuff? Say a Spyglass(which was SRPed from the HF) and outcast battleship turrets (which we where cleared for a long time ago) I just dont see how that will work given your new "formula".
So the unofficial faction turned official turned unofficial gets kicked in the balls (for a lack of a better term) because of the overall disco status?
And does this equation factor in ones player tag? We are heavily allied to the OC and LH and LR, but unless it is factoring a player tag our ship combos will die. Many VR players like their Kraken-Werewolfs.
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.
Your own guys fault for making a nonvanilla faction. That's the way it works, rofl.
Hell I'll quote Dab.
[12/11/2011 7:56:41 PM] Dabbykins: Even if Consortium stayed around (which was unlikely. factions built that aren't based on NPC factions rarely ever last long)
(Was discussing why the Consortium was a good thing for Kus)

One thing? Hardly. I've been here on and off since 06. I remember BAF flying Rheinland BS against Molly Spyglasses, and I won't even get started on Liberty. Some things needed rectification, for sure. I was glad to see that absurdity go.
I was never the type to rampage New York with a Kusari BS and Liberty Rogue ID, so that didn't offend me. As time goes by, and things change, playing my independent characters, which all but one of them usually are independents (this time back, I have two LR characters), has become more bothersome.
I'm starting to wonder as to the already poor survivability of my primary cargo jacking "trader" freighter jock in his CSF. As it stands he might get auto-nerfed, more so should I decide to make some friends and upgrade his weaponry. I'm hoping for a little more variety to civ weapons.
It's no good, especially when he's a general target simply because of his ID. I haven't so much as shot a trade lane yet, and I get gang raped just for having the ID. An ID, like a big, bright LED billboard on the side of his ship declaring himself. Never happen in reality, but it happens in an "RP" server. That doesn't make any more sense than a ship's technology being dysfunctional because it comes from different houses, particularly considering the massive trade networks between houses and obvious standardized tech. And is it something that couldn't be rectified with sufficient knowledge/resources or specialist assistance? Nonsense. There's no rationalizing it in RP, except in the case of Gallic/Nomad tech.
NPC based factions should be specially regulated. Navies, for example, have their ships and kit supplied to them. They aren't freelance operators. They don't own their own ships, but we don't play it that way on the roleplaying server.
Freelancers/generic IDs generally speaking already have the massive nerf of being without a standing gank squad, are always suspect, guilty until proven innocent, have serious tech chart limitations, particularly the relatively underwhelming civ tech readily available to them and the outrageously expensive code weapons. But, factions have that kit, too. Freelancer/Generic ID strength is their flexibility. Or it should be, within reason.
Experience has taught me cynicism. I'm hoping for the best, but I'm not expecting it. We'll see how 4.86 works out.
in miss my friends Mal and Bear it's to bad they could not be here to see this.
http://signavatar.com/15890_s.gif First: You've got a picture in there that's 800x286 pixels. The maximum signature size is 700x250.
Second: Your other picture in the rotation fills the full 700x250 boundaries by itself.
With an image that big, you can't fit any text below it. Please fix this.
