' Wrote:Have you thought much about the supply side for this faction?
I've read that its getting some bad loans from Bretoia in this thread, and that there's some thought at the outset that the Gaians will support them.
But you have five battleships, ten cruisers, twenty five gunboats, "some" fighter wings. You've the Earth Fleet, all cut off in the hinder worlds, and nothing like Pell, if you'll take an analagy from a completely different universe.
The supply side of this mess is very, very, very interesting, and could be a great struggle to dedicate time to. Moreover, it has so much potential to change the people involved. Proud KNF, suddenly without supply. deprivation, recycling, fights, I have no idea how you want to run it, or how much thought you've given it. I'd love to see it.
My gut feeling is that it cannot be pretty.
The Ronin are struggling for resources, however they are getting them from Bretonia mostly (I think). Gaians are stated as friendly simply because the Ronin are not back-stabbing their friends. Gaians were on good terms with the Emperor in before, and they stay as such later. People without too much background of Kusari RP will think it's stupid (and it is!) but it's all about honor.
Also, Kusari -always- recycled. This is why there are no derbis field in Kusari - they care for the environment a lot, which is anther reason why Gaians and them are allied. (If you want to dig that info, it's all around in the Hogosha rumors about their war with the Junkers).
I doubt your former enemies (BAF) will stock KNF Spare Parts ?
EDIT: Rahter than have a lolCap force of ex KNF Ships stuck in Bretonia, it would be more realistic if the Ronin Capital Ships were texture edited to show their wear and tear like the Council Battleships are battered up and outdated versions of the GRN Valor
' Wrote:anyway, to cut off alot of this fighting, I will state it this way, the only way I am going to open the faction is if the admin team demands it. Now, we can move on to other things to talk about with the faction.
Now, I do take argument with the idea that the RP of this will just be KNF rp. This is a different faction going to be made up of former KNF and others, but the whole situation is different, so it is hard to think that it is just some generic KNF rp.
If I go make a Ronin indie in 4.86, what could you do about it?
As far as the dev team knows, there is no admin consensus on this issue. The issue that no Admin, aside from Gheis, has asked the devs about.
I couldn't be sanctioned if there is no consensus. Sanctions are agreed upon by the Admins.
Therefore, no consensus - no sanction.

That actually makes sense. I liked the idea, are you willing to do the texture job? (If you can/know how). For the snub line making spare parts shouldn't be problem - tons of deactivated chimmys in Leeds to research.
However, my opinion is not the one that will make the final judging on the matter :$
EDIT: Also comparing to the size of KNF the force is quite small, actually.

Dont matter how small it is, there is a potential for it to become a lol capforce if recruitment is left open. So it needs to be regulated to ensure the real faction is in keeping withthe NPC Storyline. Heence restricted recruitment and limited battered looking ships. I am not on the dev team although I have requested to join before. IT is up to them to do the retexturing to the Ronin KNF CAPships they can do it.
Whatever this talk is about Ronin becoming an open faction is ludicrous.
For a start, it would be an unjustifiable double-standard concerning other factions. Whether they're storyline-centric or not hardly matters, not that I believe this faction is storyline centric.
I wonder how many cries of injustice would come about should this faction be open, and thus vastly oversized compared to what it should be. Anybody with a few braincells to rub together can see the complaints of "but we kicked your ass so many times!" echoing about here.
As for you Linkus, I'd just go make a CR indie, and when I got sanctioned, link to a discussion about Exile indies and ask them to explain the difference. Surely they would have enough time to formulate a response. But that's getting ahead of time, 4.86 isn't here yet.

Logical yes?
I am sure there will be something in nice admin green before people start making ships. Don't worry, either it will be closed and be sanctionable and open and not, pretty simple. So don't worry, we can move on to discussing other things.

Admins are already clear on that one.
I'm more talking about an Admin jumping the gun on a personal issue before the Admin team, or Devs, have come to any decision on this issue.
Do people really care if its closed or not? I mean, just make an indie BAF templar if you really want to pew Gallics.
Also, regardless of RP stuff, I'm a bit interested to see how the chimmy faces up against the Royal ships. Or how the Ku Dessie will be against a few valors. Should be interesting.
