I feel that the missions pay out too little, especially when you fight capitals... I think doing missions should be another good way to earn money as trading/mining is. Not all of us are into the repetitive trade routes. My blood thirsts for action;)

Plus, whenever i'm bored I like to roleplay during the missions... I mean the NPCs did talk to me when they saw me:

"I'm going to extract military justice from your head"

"The only thing that'll be extracted is your body from your ship!"

And then the mission begun.

In roleplay, a measley amount of 300k is not worth one's life... especially when heavily armed vessels, some including capitals are put in place. More should be added, to show a faction's appreciation for a job well done.

It's already on the dev wishlist. However, not easy to do.

Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.

They've said in the past that they dont want to encourage mission-grinding as a form of money making because it puts a lot of stress on the server. NPC random spawns are already based on server population due to that, but can you imagine a couple dozen people all grinding missions that spawn dozens of NPCs each? Lagrage would ensue.

Ah, i see what you mean there. I could imagine how many people/groups would be doing missions as a way to make money. however, is it the amount of NPCs that spawn, or just a spawn in general? i mean, i have no idea how difficult programming missions are, but what if it was, for example, a 10 million dollar mission in which you had to kill a single or maybe two battleships with CAU and such? only 1 or two NPCs, but then again i dont know how things work server/dev side.

I'd really love to be able to do missions which pay much more.

But what I'd like to see is missions saying what the biggest ships are which might appear, so you can judge by yourself whether you can do it or not.

There should be "smaller paying missions" which only spawn fighters of all kind (NPC fighters can be adjusted to the mission level regarding armor, equip etc I think - I guess that's a lot of work to be done though). Then there should be missions which also spawn bombers - maybe even like 2 bombers and 2 fighters? - And missions which spawn ships up to gunboats ... cruisers ... battleships. The important thing is, missions should inform you about what you probably have to shoot when doing the mission.

Just some wishlist of mine, I know this is a lot of work...or at least I guess so. *shrugs* Something to consider for when 4.86 is released and unbugged. :D

Yeah i getcha i getcha. but from what i know, it would be extremely hard/impossible for the description to actually say what ships are approaching. instead maybe it should be based on difficulty level. like 42+ are battleships, or something to that matter.

Thing is, if missions become a good way to get money, why would anyone bother to trade/mine anymore?
I agree that it would make more sense to have missions pay more, (and npc caps be harder) but thats the problem.
