I've heard a few things about this fantasy TV serie so I've decided to download it few days ago, I saw one episode and I couldn't get of it.

It's truly a master piece for all the fans of fantasy, I can only advice you to watch it. That and I can't wait for Seasson 2.

I've read the books a long time ago - only the most recent I havent read yet.

But yeah, its a very different type of fantasy series. It's dirty, it's gritty, it's raunchy - its got rape, murder, incest, and debauchery - its the setting where the good guys get killed, the bad guys always win, and theres never a happy ending.

Thats what makes it so good.

*ques up episode one, and hopes it does the books justice*

I'm glad to hear it's not a total botch like Legend of the Seeker was.
The books are great until about the fourth one or so when the author should have just pulled a "One year later..." instead of telling us all about the boring stuff that happened that year while everyone was casting about for something interesting to do. I do like the fact that you can't ever count on a main character surviving. Although apparently there is some sort of resurrection or black magic necromancy going on...

Legend of the Seeker was an awful, an absolutely awful, rendition of the Sword of Truth series.

As for the series itself, I'm forced to agree with you Xoria. As much as I loved the first three books of the series, it quickly became on of those fingernails-across-the-chalkboard stories. A lot of promise poorly executed, with far too much emphasis on Randian philosophy.

This is something different.. Not sure what to make of it, yet.

I enjoyed it...acting was fairly decent all the way around for such large cast. I would give it my vote as one of the top 5 new series for last season.

Yeah, I've expected it to be just mildly good, considering that most of the fantasy movies get usually either too much for kids or just mindless bloodshed without a proper story but this ... :ylove:

Only the main theme will make you totally addicted.

PS: Also no spoilers if you have read the books please :P

Wow. I've always avoided watching fantasy TV series just because they sucked hard. But this one looks promising, I'm going to watch it as soon as possible.

EDIT: How the hell Boromir did get there?

Was quite surprised too when I saw that, but he plays his role damn great :)

Got the fifth book for Christmas, and it's a good read! If you like the TV show, I bet you'll like the books too.
