Would like some expert help

Just got photoshop cs3 extended, and if anyone else has it please help me!!!:P. Looks very confusing and ive read like 100 tutorials on it but none really helped... Looking to make my own sig. Soo if someone could help me with basics that would be great. ( basics as in how to get renders to work and such;)

Ok got my sig almost done, just need help on one thing. Renders: i got my render in my imgae, anyone know how to make the render smaller?

If its anything like CS2...

Select the layer your Render is in, Go to Edit>Free Transform. Hold down Shift to keep it scaled the same.
