I never liked original FL soundtrack. So, I've just decided to violate the copyrights and put various other soundtracks. I like what I've done and decided to share it with you, dear Disco. Just please, since I'm such a good guy and stuff, don't call the cyberpolice here.
=========DOWNLOAD THE PARTED ARCHIVE FROM HERE:
Sorry, lads. That's not possible at the moment.
=========VARIOUS INFORMATION STUFF YOU PROBABLY GONNA SKIP:
This mod is in beta stage. There's still many things to do (make it FMM-compatible, edit
every track as loop etc.)
Right now, this version has tracks from these sources:
Homeworld (1,C,2)
Skyrim (high-five for putting medieval-like music into sci-fi game)
Killzone 3
Battlestar Galactica
Mass Effect 2
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Great KUDOS to Erica Harmann, for helping me to deal the sound issues;
My mom, that helped me to see this world;
My dad, who put a part in all of this process of my creation;
Everyone else for noapparent reason.
The instruction how to install this thing is down below.
ATTENTION: THIS MOD IS TESTED WITH DISCOVERY 4.86 AND 4.87 PARTIALLY. THERE ARE NO CHANGES FOR GALLIA SOUNDTRACK. TRY THIS MOD ON YOUR OWN RISK AND DON'T BLAME ME. BLAME ZELOT.

=========HOW TO INSTALL THIS CRAP:
Just extract the folder into directory your Discovery mod is located:
(for example: D:\Program Files\Discovery Freelancer 4.86.0)
Added some info in Sigma section. I really wanted to add Skyrim's "The Streets of Whiterun" as "space" music, because of imaging the calamity and beauty of clouds. But suddenly, I've thought about ancient dune traders, tribes wandering from one corner to another. That's how I used "Planetkillers", the favorite score of Homeworld 2.
well i havent messed with the battle tracks....
im mostly a trader so i just changed out the 12 or so main space music files
cant find the track for burgandy system for some reason...wierd
there are 30 bar tracks...alot of them duplicates in vanilla FL
time consuming but by that time i was on a roll
ive tried converting them down to the default file size that FL usually uses but the sound quality suffers too much
ive just used audacity to amp without clipping and convert to WAV..
the files are huge but seems FL only plays a section of a track at a time or something
so not much memory usage
as far as sci fi classical stuff goes think total recall had a good soundtrack
and of course the alien series
maybe matrix, avatar worth checking
gallia is in a seperate folder under music but same story
IMHO feel free to replace....not quite the same feel as freelancer but its ok
im sure the artist worked hard but....not my style
i travel everywhere but ya....some systems the music you will never hear unless you leave the tradelanes
im still not happy with the volume level compared to vanilla FL music
is it the format or what?
probably with some combination of compression and amping it would work out but it distorts easily
