That is probably right, I spent like and hour-hour and a half on this, and i wasn't in my usual "lets make something" mood...

These kinds of projects require at least 3 hours of detailed working(as far as I know). Some of them can take even up to a couple of days. O.o

I guess I got a half good quickly done image in the end, but hey, its good for a first one ^^

Edit : I didn't even use a proper brush, maybe you noticed the snowflakes xD

I know for sure that it does take an effort to make good space backgrounds. The more time you spend on it, the better it looks.

Nice little T-bar I whipped up with my bad photoshop skills. Its for my AGS-L| character.

It has a lot of glowing effects on it. I've decided I like glowing things.
They go a long way towards covering up the fact that most of this image is bad copy-paste work, combined with a few lines of text.

Nearly bored myself to death this evening, boring to grind levels in RPG games and even more boring trying to get online disco with all these people on.....SO, figured i'd do some work in PS..... the original one, which was better then this one by far, died as PS suddenly found it suitable to crash while i was saving.... So i remade it, but ya know.... perfection can never be recreated.

Today I install Photoshop after more than one year. And I am ex Disco player too, I quit at same time as PS.
Maybe someone will remember me as Uncle Runkle (Vice).
I was thinking what to do and this comes up. I hope you will like it. Feedback would be nice.

There is a big blank spot on that T-bar in the right upper corner. I feel like that space is being under used. I would suggest either adding a picture of the character's ship with some technical overlays, a symbol of the character's faction or affiliation, or maybe just some technobabble and encryption chatter.

Other than that, I like it its simplicity. If you can find a higher res picture of your character that'd be good, the current one is a little bit disorted. Try saving the image of your character instead of copy/pasting in onto your clipboard in order to preserve image quality.
