any specifics on adding player factions to the disco server? like im guessing you add or edit a license , and then adjust the rep accordingly?

any thing else to note ?

That is an example of a faction.(Just random example nothing personal). You also need 500mil for admins to look at your faction, and discuss it. Many many never get farther then that.

Do you mean an NPC faction?

ID's are just items with writing on them, nothing to do with factions. FLHook is used to then adjust the reps of folks with that item.

If you mod the game files yourself for your own server, then you're no longer playing Discovery. In this case, you will want to look on The Starport for modding guides.

If you want a player faction put in to the Discovery mod, then the faction needs to be made on the RP 24/7 server, and work from the very beginning. That process usually takes years.

Edit: unless you meant NPC faction which is not the same as a player faction. Best for a Dev to explain that one.

Ahh sorry. My bad. 48 hours on the road with 6 hours sleep only. Not best time to be reading forums i guess. :)

its all good - and i can see the limitations here. so i assume there are player factions already listed in the game , that can be reused on my server?

Some player factions have been added in as NPC factions.
The Phantoms, CR, SCRA for examples.
You can do anything you want with such things on your own server.
If you intend to modify the actual mod files themselves, make sure to give Discovery credit where due.

The 4.86 mod added 20 new player faction IDs to your files. They use IDS #'s 505500 through 505539

player created factions are results of long, solid roleplay. if you have been here long enough as a faction, i suppose you can get an Id of your own if you really need a new one ( as in - if you are so different and special than anything in existence )
