Why does everybody say that "Kill me now" traders are oorp?

Because traders are supposed to make money, and telling the pirate to kill you does the exact opposite. A trading company will make more money if the trader gives up a few million that it will if the trader gives up his entire ship, his crew, his cargo, and his life.
