Here's a list of all Gallic related systems:


Core Worlds:
Ile-de-France
Lyonnais
Berry
Orleanais
Picardie
Maine
Anjou

Border Worlds:
Burgundy
Lorraine
Dauphine
Champagne
Languedoc
Touraine
Auvergne
Provence
Corse
Savoie
Franche-compte

18 systems.

Most of them take at least 5 minutes or so to fly through.

Bretonia, Kusari and Rheinland all have 8~10 systems under their jurisdiction, and that's including their guard systems.

One can hurry through Bretonia, Kusari or Rheinland in less than 10 minutes should they use every shortcuts at their disposition.

Liberty has around 15 systems, but it is also directly connected to 3 Houses.

Gallia is connected to only two Houses, and the Outcasts. There's no traffic. All of those systems are in the middle of Gallia and not connected to anything whatsoever. Liberty at least has the excuse of being in the middle for having so many systems, and that most of their extra systems actually lead to another house, instead of being closed and shut within itself.

Gallia is just too. large. too. big.

It would only benefit the server to reduce their sizes. Condense activity. Gallia's dead. The factions maybe aren't, but they never operate within House space. It's all Leeds-Leeds-Leeds-Leeds for all sides, with the occasional Gallic player flying a snub and trying to get roleplay.

In my opinion as a Gallic player, it isn't fun at all.

Please do something about Gallia's size.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

They will do something about Gallia's size.

There are still sealed jumpgates in the Core worlds and in Lorraine.

It will get bigger.

It's a whole new sector, not just a house's space.

Edit: What I mean is, populate the sector in a relative proportion, and it will be fun. It's the playerbase's move now.

Fine. Connect it to stuff then. In .85, there were at -least- 3 ways to reach Rheinland from Manhattan, all while staying within Liberty Space. (Haven't tried in .86 yet, but I heard the Vesspuci/Duesseldorf JH was cut)

Gallia has two entrances for Two Houses and 1 Mini-House. Nothing's going to trinkle in.

Personally, in all due seriousness. I greatly appreciate the amount of work the devs put into this thing, and it is not even done yet. The whole thing oozes lore, and right now trade is being rebalanced so there will be alot more routes going from Gallia to Kusari and the neighbors, so activity will increase. We also need to get the GRP out of the Taus and start policing the homefront, cause I keep pirating those Beryllium transports as they pass through Dauphine.

Once activity increases from the trade balances and potential political stuff going on with Kusari, the Council, and Bretonia, I think it will be working as intended, if not better.

If gallia is in fact a new region, not just a new house, why not split gallia into two?

Not necessarily the next version, or even soon, but what if there was a schism within gallia? Larger than the council, even.

Or, alternatively, the council manages to take over a large portion of gallia or something.

That's not how that works.

If you were to "populate the sector in a relative proportion," no one would ever see anyone, ever.

There are already enough systems, even without Gallia, that you never see more than a handful of people (on a full 225 person server) on most trips. If everyone spread out equally, you'd see even fewer people.

Gallia will be the death of this mod. If 4.87 doesn't have a "well, the jump holes collapsed, no more Gallia" or "well, Sirius exploded, everyone's in Gallia now" storyline, Discovery will cease to exist in favor of mods where there's actual player interaction.

My only point is that Gallia is not connectd to two houses - it's connected to zero houses. A three-system gap between houses doesn't really count as a connection.
