Gallia is not just another house, part of a sector, it is an entire sector. If we think theoretically, Gallia has too few systems. Gallia has trade routes, good ones I might add. If the systems were smaller, fewer, the routes would be shorter and less productive, resulting in less profit and less activity.

I must say that trading in Gallia these days is very very relaxing. It's a good break from the Sirius crapstorms.
If you want to trade without seeing any other players, play singleplayer.

I'm glad to hear that, Dab, honestly.

I was afraid of missing something epicly mysterious or groundbreaking by not visiting every station of every system of 4.86 Gallia. I have a strong interest in the lore (being french myself probably helps alot) but something feels wrong in dear Gallia. This sense of vast emptiness doesn't correspond to the idea I had about it ; it's just too huge, weirdly connected and deserted.

I'm not sure it's down to people not being courageous enough to go discover it. It's just that Gallia lacks appeal and practicability.

Take the Omicrons. They're nice, dangerous, fascinating and it's rather easy to figure your way through them. I keep getting back to them even though I visited them countless times. And there's people to chat with, stuff to shoot, etc.

Gallia has potential, but this potential is being spread way too much, and the playerbase can't follow.
Get rid of a few systems, make the global systems network more coherent and easy to sail through, have a few classical chokepoints like Magellan for instance, and the whole place will get flooded in no time.

But at the moment, hell, it's hard to go pirate people in Gallia. When you finally spot a trader in Gallia, he's five systems away from you, and the path he's going to take is just a mystery.

The whole thing about Gallia being an entire sector doesn't make sense to me. Even if the Gallia was larger than all of the other sleeper ships, I doubt the Gallic population would increase at a rate large enough to warrant spreading throughout an entire sector. I can imagine them being the most populous House, but not being more populated than two Houses.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

Well, I will try to be constructive:

GALLIA UNDER THE RULE OF LORD BATTLESNAX:

Summary of changes:
* Delete all Faction Home Worlds (Touraine, Anjou, Franche-Comte, Savoie, Artois, and Corse), put their bases in the other systems if needed.
* Delete Gallic core worlds of: Auvergne, Orleanais, and Lyonnais due to redundancy.
* Create Jump Hole links from Maine to Berry and Berry to Provence in order to make up for the system deletions. Link Berry to Ile-de-France via Trade Lanes and Jump Gates.
* Consolidate bases and commodities into the remaining systems if necessary. Leave out the redundant ones.

I want to stress that I think the stations, the lore, the appearance of Gallia is awesome awesome awesome. I was literally wow'ed by the new station architecture that exists in Gallia. And if we could have 300 or 400 people on the server, then I would keep it all. But unfortunately due to the server player limits a lot of the hard work that devs put in will not be enjoyed properly with a vibrant population in Gallia. So I think deletions are necessary to give Gallia the player density it deserves.

EDIT:
* I'd add a Jump Hole from Provence to Languedoc, also.

Let's all just be friends and have a good time.

Contrary to popular belief, there are people in Gallia that enjoy being there and all the interactions I had till now in that part of space were above the usual quality - "2 millions or I kill you" that can be found in most of Sirius (yeah, even Sirius evolved and there's no more "2milrdai").

There are way too many redundant stations, like Dab said. But why are there even (pseudo-) guard systems? At a time when lots of people think the classic ones are clutter, it seems counterproductive.

But mostly, why does every systems have like 2 bases for every faction? (Ok, some only have 1.) Gallic factions all seem to have more bases than their Sirius counterparts.

And most importantly, if the region of Gallia was so awesome, why didn't any of the Sirius sleeper ships spend a few more years and go there to get the tons of extra resources and habitable planets?

I recall that it was deemed too insufficient to support all five Houses, but this is kind of a weak argument in my opinion since Sirius can barely support the everyone in it. Just look at the current state of Hispania.

I think Dab has the right idea

I posted a thread similar to this a while back and my suggestion was to make the trade routes slightly more lucrative between gallia and sirius

more traders, the pirates would follow etc etc

Well sure, not for everyone, but what about some of the later arriving ships? Either Kusari or Bretonia may have been far better suited to have traveled a bit more.
