Hi, I am quite useless as a BS captain, so I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on which ship is better allround?* I know the Sarissa is more agile, but it still has a very large model, so I am not sure how much of an advantage that really is compared to the guns and the hull of the Ranseur? Anyone got experiences with both ships (the new Ranseur model, not the old one)?

*Yes I know that no ship is "better", that have different roles etc. etc., but I reckon you know what I mean when I say "better".

I had the old model, and as much as I didn't like its looks, I liked the size and maneuvarability. I got the new model when 4.86 hit and sold it and now I have a Sarissa.

It seems more agile, but I do get blown up more easily, but I was thinking it was maybe lack of skill - that the Sarissa is like the Ossie (was?): Far superior when in skilled hands? Or is it just basicly a weaker version of the Ranseur with just a little bit more agility, which means I should go for a Ranseur instead?

I have Sarrisa one year and its good ship. With average skills(or luck) you can defeat other capital ships. The agility is your big friend and turret steering! Just try to avoid other projectiles..(and dont mount mortar or mount them 2 so you can use hit-and-run tacticks)

Go and try them both somewhere ...

Ranseur is much powerfull ship. He have a hard power.
But, indeed, Massive, new one Ranseur stronger, then old. I miss for old Ranseur too... 4.85 Ranseur perfect pvp cap ship and looks very beautiful..
I think, Ranseur, in Disco - 3rd stronger ship in old and new mod...

Listen to Monty, he used em often:)
Never flew em myself, but blew up lots of them - Sarissas were always easier to kill, and afaik they aren't comparable to Ossie in terms of kiting.
Although, that's all from 4.85

Compare the stats and take into account that the Sarissa is even larger than the Ranseur and like the 3rd largest battleship on the entire server.
Agility can't help you if you are still too fat.
The Sarissa needs to be either scaled down or buffed into the heavy bs class.
