New IMG VHF Model

It's made by the IMG, for civilian use.

If it's made by the IMG it should like the rest of the ships in the same production

General Motors owns Chevrolet and makes those cars.

General Motors also owns Buick and makes those cars.

Buicks don't look like Chevrolets.

Unlike the normal IMG line, the Raven's Talon is made by the IMG for public use. It's a different "line" of ships.

Alternately: The IMG line is ugly enough, we don't need more of them around.

Actually the fiction I prefer is that the mechanics on Java Station start with the base model and hot-rod the hell out of them to get the RT. Strip it down to reduce weight, add an engine for more power, result is faster and more nimble ship with less armor and cargo.

"They say it looks ugly! No civilian wants an ugly ship, no matter how good the performance!"

"I have a wonderful idea, let's get a design team to make our ship look awesome based upon our current designs. That way, rich people will buy em to show off in space!"

And thus, the new Raven's Talon was born.

PS: The new IMG ship is beyond awesomesauce. Despite it being somewhat non-miner looking, it is still bloody awesome.

BW is the in-game equivalent of GM. BW makes RWD/FWD, LHD/RHD, small/big, practical/sporty, LFs to commercial transports. IMG makes ships for themselves, and oh they have one ship they will sell to whoever.

Although it doesn't really fit to IMG (yet).

The IMG is a mining faction, right? For some reason, this doesn't scream 'Independent Miners' to me. It just looks too nice. The current IMG ships convey the message of a miner quite well though. Maybe make this an RT replacement? I don't see anything about the current IMG ships that needs replacing.

You forgot the purpose of a fighter ship, right? It's design gives it higher survival rate on the battlefield. Even for a mining faction, it doesn't make sense to make fighters which should scream something minerish in order to make them suitable for a miner faction.

IMG is an entity which according to lore has a highly developed R&D, a rather large paramilitary (see BCs) and lots of experience because of the constant fights with the Outcasts in the Upper Taus. So there is no reason why IMG cannot have such a ship.

It's a Nyx Mk II. Would've done a new design entirely.

There must be some continuity with the previous versions of the IMG VHFs, right? Not that a completely new design would be bad, of course.
