Low FPS on the server?

Hello.
I have just downloaded the new update 5. After playing about an hour or two, the game began to lag (low frames per second). I haven't seen that before. I do believe its becouse of my PC. But look at its stats:

Windows XP 2002 Service Pack 3
Intel Pentium Dual CPU 1.80 GHz
2.00 GB of RAM
Video Card: Nvidia Ge-Force 8600 GT

I played Freelancer Discovery for 2 months now, it didn't have any problems on this PC.
What can cause this? I don't think its becouse my internet connection too.

Maybe the update has a bug or something?

No no. Its not like that. Lets say the usual FPS is 36. Now its like 15. It makes the game unplayable.
But singleplayer works just fine.

I got now the same problem. loaded the update played a while all fine, now i got this micro lags to (extrem short freezing screen like a little lag)

thought it was my laptop too, restart him same problem :/

try alt-tabbing in and out....
i dunno why, it's kinda silly, but it just fixed my fps.

didnt work on me :/ i think it must happen something with the new grafic update cause i was sitting a whil in Conn and watched the new cool explode animation from cap ships. this animations create a little screen freeze cause this epic huge effect:(

Go to the EXE directory and find the file "freelancer.ini". Open it, locate the line "hostname = gun.fllistserver.com", remove it (or put a ; in front of it) and save the file.
