' Wrote:It is working now, i simply restored the file that was on quarantine. Then i went to the game and notice how slow the game was! Really really slow, the ping was normal ... i usually have between 62 to 76 and it was 70 but ... i went to the deskot and made the ctl+alt+del and notice that freelancer.exe was using 50% of the CPU. I exited feelancer, removed freelancer.exe that still was on the list, started the game again and all fine. at the moment is 0%. later i will restart this PC and see if happens again and make a full scan.
Take care all
Edit: Ok i made a restart of my PC, and entered again on Freelancer and again the game is very slow, i checked again and freelancer.exe was agan using 50% of the CPU. I exited freelancer and removed it from the list, entered again on the game and all fine!!!! Anyone with the same problem?
Yea i have the same problem, i even reinstalled w7 and its still slow at times.
I wanna try and keep it breif... I think others may be in the same boat (not bothered reading... Effort 8|)
Basically, I keep getting FPS drop to about 6-16 FPS, randomly. No idea what it could be (not all that big on software related crap). My computer runs Metro 2033 on max settings, dx11 and all that gubbins, how does a game from 2003 drop to 6-16 FPS...
In theory Hudshift should be active by default I think, current version automatically picks a good "shift" for the HUD depending on your resolution. It might be it only works if you run with a custom resolution set with -dx or similar, not sure.
If it doesn't work, just activate it manually:
Verify you have the files
hudshift.dll
hudshift.ini
in Disco\EXE\
If yes:
Open Disco\EXE\dacom.ini
Verify that under [Libraries]
you have the line "hudshift.dll"
If not, add it at the end of that block, like this:
If it still doesn't work or the shift is totally wrong:
Open Disco folder\EXE\Hudshift.ini
and comment out the first line. You can do that by changing
[HUDShift]
into
[;HUDShift]
Then look which shift option would be the correct one for you (e.g. 0.102 for 16:10 resolutions) and change the
[;HUDShift]
into
[HUDShift]
that is directly below the comment line defining the ratio.
Now you manually set a shift parameter.
Save&exit.
Launch game.
Profit.
If the two files are missing for you: You messed up somewhere on installation.
If the shift is not applied after doing all these steps, you messed up following my instructions.
Thanks for all! But..
The voidrunner is still cruising at 350. You said it was going to be 400, as a light fighter. Did you change your mind? Or you forgot? D:
Have you re-bought the ship yet? From what I hear, you'll need to do this so that... something or other. I don't know how it works. But re-buying it should fix that.
Remember to buy a different ship in-between, or you'll get kicked. I think that still happens, anyway.
