Radar dish is a cool idea, perhaps just have two facing into the ring themselves. No curves on the main body; even just a beveled box would look okay if textured well.

Also of note is that having center pieces to these things will allow them to be shot out by NPCs, which is going to be incredibly annoying.

Which was already mentioned as sort of the point of having it.

All the tradelanes were built by DSE/Ageira with the exception of the Gallic lanes. Why would they look different according to the house in which they are situated?

Also, don't really like the model.

Also, NPCs shooting lanes is one of the most annoying things in the game anyway. Having it happening more would just kinda suck.

The first one looks like it's made of Upholder bombers.

RepEx put forward a plan to have Rheinlands lane network updated and remade. So I approve this.

I was thinking something similar to Gallia's design instead of the point markers. It just feels right.

While the signature did not break any rules before, the lack of third party hosting caused your signature to take up over half of the page. Until the problem is fixed, I'll have to revert those images to links. ~Inferno

Could be fixed with either upping the lane shield capacity - so that NPCs can zap the lane but it won't disrupt it as easily - or doing the Gallic thing and adding a few beefed turrets to the lane, so you end up with explosions instead of NPCs. Although the latter might annoy the pirates who then can't just sit on a lane anymore if the lane defenses take their shields out. TL shield capacity is probably the better solution...

As for the lanes being made by Ageira: The hightech components, sure. But the framework? Why would a house not build it's own frames? Cheaper to have it done locally I wager. Faster too.

The recent crisis in Rheinland could be a catalyst for it.
Houses won't be able to make all the equipment for lanes as they are secret Ageira tech but as Aet said, the framework could be built by a house.
I'd wager there are several components inside lanes that could be 'home produced' so to speak.

The reliance on Ageira is a weakness of many houses and the recent crisis would produce a wave of support for lessening the reliance on foreign companies.
