My question is why are you questioning a parent's name for a child as if it's something up for debate. :|

I'd kill to be named Loki. Just so I could be like..."Yeah, I'm Loki. Thor is my brother, but he's kind of a dick."

we are in no possition to pick name for him - it's his child and he will bare the consequences - and it's nothing that much crazy - IMO it's even cool...for Polish family that wouldn't sound ok but for a brit...why not...half of brits are pollish anyway:D

my vote simple " yes " it's not so crazy to do such a big deal about it.

And I like it, so voted for "like Loki".
Notice how they name their daughter Árven by Hungarian phonetics instead of Arwen, as they cannot name them that way:D Kolompár Rómeó, Rácz Dzsesszika (pronounce: Jessica) and such are classics already:D

Living in such a country, I'd rather name my kid normal, to keep some decency amongst these, hence my opinion about Loki being not so oki...

Name is very nice, especially if you relate it to the norse mythology

Also, why do you people bother with it?

In my country there are those people named gipsies, people from the Balkans know them well, and they have all sorts of names, like Mercedes, Ferrari, Bucket Helinerta, Adolf Hitler and the list goes on

Also, if I will have a child, I wanna name him Lucifer(if he's a boy ofc):D

Now that we're past alot of the 'omg it's just a name' stuff, & since we were invited by a 3rd party to stick our noses into someone's business, let's boil off the water & be honest about how stupid the name choice actually is...Or at the very least, how stupid the timing is. Bottom line: Even if daddy-o has a lifelong love of Norse mythology & maybe had the name in mind for years, he will always be pigeon holed as the idiot guy that named his kid after watching a movie. Anakin was a popular baby name in '99 cause of the Phantom Menace, Harry was a popular name in 2001 after the release of the Sorcerers Stone, Hell, Even Crockett/Tubbs was a popular baby name choice in the 80's because of Miami Vice.

Odd names are cool & all but it's pretty clear from my perspective that the inertia of momentary popularity has over-ridden the dudes better judgement. tis best for him to rethink the mass market silliness of it all before the ink dries on the birth certificate & they all have to live with it for the rest of their lives (imho)

No, my cousin's kid who has a missing chromosome and is named Colin (Pronounced colon) is going to get destroyed at school. -_-

The only gripe I'd have with it is that the name sort of carries negative connotations. Naming him Thor or something would've been just plain awesome though.

Also, I had a friend who knew two twin brothers named Rolls and Royce.. jesus, who names their kid ROLLS?
