Lately, all my pvp experiences have turned into a disapointment, due to the increase in fluct and lag.

I know it's server related since such issues are felt by other members of the community.

Now, my question to you all is, how can one go past that and enjoy Discovery?

They see me tradin', they hatin'...

It can be fun if you get few friends to form a convoy, you don't have to make $$, just for the heck of it.

Don't PvP?

Actually, I'm sort of serious here - try to go into an encounter planning on getting the most role-play that you can WITHOUT shooting your weapons. See how long that can go. You'd be suprised at what can be done if you don't just plan on shooting everything in sight.

And as for lag - play on Disco with a typical ping of 150 or more ...

(Oh, and as for the not shooting - realize that was on my Nomad Cruiser sitting on the main trade lane going into New London ... sat there for more than 30 minutes one night recently, just talking to people about ***things*** and RP'ing with them - without me firing a shot at them... (Well, one guy, but he was being mean. Don't piss off a squid cruiser if you're in a freighter. You'll lose.))

This or <strike>go cyber in NY like everyone else</strike> set up some RP, that you've never done before, something exotic and new.

PvP is great on servers with low population, but on the GC one the CDs and missiles often totally fail at homing. People tell me its about lag, but my ping is better here than on others.

For role play i have my things to do, chaperone to the Necrosis being one of them, transporting with the IMG;)and the occasional sortie with the Mollys and RM.

Roleplay isn't really the problem here. It's that when i want my pvp fix (like everyone once in a while) the pvp is horrid due to failing cd's, warping opponents.

Should i drop the small crafts like fighters and bombers and try my luck in capitals for a decent pvp experience?

I dunno ,
I only am encountering weird lag spikes since recently,
most of my snub fights are enjoyable and not bugged though.
If you are used to a snub like me , probably flying a cap would drive you nuts.
I find myself constantly smashing the TAB button out of frustration,
so sloooooow.

I don't know. I haven't even tried a gunboat.

All i have in the heavier range is transports and the Fafnir.

So give me tips and thoughts, please?

what exactly do you not like about pvp?

missiles dont track cuz of lag? > use guns more

you are always lagging in pvp? > its not the server, its you. it should be fine most of the time from what i remember

you encounter too many opponents that lag? > people have different internet speeds and are from different parts of the world. laggers are in every game, it happens, deal with it. if you dont want to deal with them, simply dont fight them. saying that everyone lags is pushing it over the top.

you dont encounter fair fights? > get used to it, ganking is part of the game. run or die like a man

you only want to have duels? > camp connecticut and your faction guard systems and challenge people to duels.
