At some point, me and Raul were kidding on what ID specifications should we get if the JZ were ever to see their own ID and official faction status. That was a few months ago, when we had 12 people.

Now we have over 30 active members, so this was really something I wanted to consider, but I wanted to ask.



Perhaps at some point we too would apply for an ID like the OSI did. Still a few months away from such a possibility, not to mention the required forum RP, but still. But what can we trade off?

The idea of restricting a tag to use gates, holes and lanes. Is it possible via FLhook and would it serve as a good restriction for a faction, whose only gimmic is using a jumpdrive.




In roleplay, it would mean that the ships are filled with all the needed devices for jumping and jump coordination, but are sensitive to the fields caused by lanes, gates and so on. Something like that.





Thoughts?

I suppose that it is possible to prevent using JHs and JGs, since we already have 30 seconds cooldown timer applied. But preventing from using lanes - I doubt it would be worth the time to create such code.

Quorg...mate...did you even read the first post? The context of it, I mean.



I noted of a situation, when me and a friend were joking around, thinking up an ID specification for the JZ if it ever became official. One of the ideas was to restrict the ID from using gates and lanes and jumpholes.


I am not talking about any other factions or trade nerfing or vets for that matter...

If the idea is to make it so that a specific faction HAS to "Jump" as it's RP.

May I bring up the fact that, you can JUST use "Jumping" already?

We choose our RP;)not game mechanics.

I am not in JZ anymore, but imagine this:

JZ- cannot use JGs, JHs.
JZ- Can only use Zoner ships.
JZ- can dock in house space.

Thus allowing JZ- to do plenty of roleplay with house governments to be allowed to jump in or risk swift 4.10

What if someone had to fetch fuel from another system? They can't jump, or use JG or JH.

I don't see the point in adding mechanics for one faction when they could quite easily police themselves and achieve the same result.
If they can't be trusted to police themselves... Well, noone really cares but them, so no harm done.
