I can't tell that they are flying through.

EDIT: How do you think they got behind the ship? The Kushan is not moving.. and on some picture you actually see them fly right trough.

Not that I don't trust you, but the Kushan has been around for a long time. I guess it's just because people didn't fly it much...

I was CrashTestDummie. When the shots hit the ship they don't just fly through the ship, they stop. So, when you see "bullets flying behind the ship" it means the ship isn't taking damage from the shots.

When Mjolnir says the hitbox is incorrect, it means that what you see in game as the ship's hull, isn't a good enough representation of what you need to hit in order to cause damage.

Also, I would like to point out that both ships were dead stopped. At all times I aimed at the ship's silhouette trying to find it's actual contour. I mean, look at the very last picture. I'm shooting right in the middle of the ship, broad side, and the shots are passing through it. And you can see a lot of pictures like that. As a matter of fact, I took some 30 pictures. Do the test yourself.

I don't think the point here has anything to do with Oso. We did, in the end, manage to kill him. So we're not whinnying about how the ship won the battle, it actually didn't. The point is that we genuinely felt there were some sort of "bug" with its hitbox, since a lot of our fire simply passed it's hull with no visual damage made.

As for Oso, I don't take the merit out of him. He did indeed manage to evade quite well. But we also did indeed manage to place a feel shots that never counted.

Again, take a careful look at the pictures. If you don't believe them, do the test yourself.

Ok everyone I have a solution to this problem. Give us a true Cylon Raider. Make it comparable to the Viper I don't care which and give it a fair hitbox. I know the model is out there and I've asked for it before the last mod release. No body responded to me.

Ok the above was just a little steam blowing. I realize that putting in a whole new ship for just 3 active players probebly won't happen but therein lies the problem. Nobody wants to be a cylon because we have no cool ships. The BSG and the CR have 5 times our numbers because the Viper is just so cool. Every ship I've flown under the Cylon tag has recieved flack including the Marauder. Bad hitbox, bad stats, bad coloring? Both Oso and I are long standing veterans on this server so it stands to reason that we know how to fly. I don't care what ship we end up in I'll always fly Cylon. Nerf em all, it'll just take me longer to kill.

P.S. Please think about that Raider suggestion:)

These are the values of the model in 3D. Do you notice the y-axis values?. Means the center of the model is below 0, while the center of the hitbox is 0. The shots are not going through. They are passing above the model.
As i said in many other threads, the whole hitbox stuff is strange. Its not only the hitbox. Hits are depending on hitbox and bounding box of the model. Custom hitboxes would solve the problem, but they must be made with an editor. Therefore my programming and mathe skills are not good enough. We need an tutorial by former members of Digital Anvil.

@ Osorojo and Dark Centurion: Marauder got another hitbox, which matches the shape of the Marauder better than the former one

@AoM but the (+) sign was right where Gronath aimed. Is it placed in the center of the model or of the hitbox? I think it's the center of the model (looks like that on the pictures). So the shots were passing under the hitbox then.

That is also a bit of a problem.. if you cannot aim at the shape.. you aim at the (+) sign.. but when that is wrong as well...:(

In relation to marauder, did not know its bug when using it at first. I did not use it due to its poor stats in relation to its enemies. I picked kushan after researching it characteristics and manufactuer, alien and on robot planet. In addition, I have taken alot of time to perfect its final loadout to overcome its lack of mounts. 3 goldenblades and 2 rapier turrets, yes corsair, but I have covered that.

Such a load out gives it great hitting power at distance and speed. Regardless, this is all moot until lobbyists appeal to Igiss to nerf it as has been the tradition since my arrival over 14 months ago.

Eagle Armor - 9900
Viper mk1 Armor - 8800

I don't see how Viper has bigger armor?
Yes, mk2 has, but it's a larger hitbox then mk1.

Further more, Hitbox?
It has exactly the same hitbox as your beloved Wrath.
Mk2 has resized (bigger) Wrath hitbox.
Invulnerable to missiles? Yes. But at what cost?
Viper mk2 agile as Eagle????? WTF?
Excuse me, why am i talking to you at the first place?
Can you please check your facts first?

Eagle agility - 1.3415
Viper agility - 1.1556
Wrath agility - 1.250

You are telling me that this is the same agility? Do you know the difference between this 3 numbers at all?
It is like saying that Titan is agile as Sabre for god sake!

Compare Viper agility to Wrath agility.
Also, compare the looks on Wrath and Viper.
Can you find a better matching hitbox? No, you can't, this one fits perfectly.

Blood Dragon has low armor? 9600 is low, i guess? Well, how is that low, but Viper's 8800 is too much?
It has a fair size, yes. But if you guys would stop ripping off it's wings, maybe the size would be realistic.
I haven't seen a BD with it's wings in 2 months, except Zapp's i believe.

All i said was connected to the ships hitbox.
All you said is whining about IMG ships, which are not the subject here.
Make your own thread about incapability of destroying Vipers, and i will be more then happy to answer to all your questions there.

It is clear (if you look at the pictures) that hitbox isn't really the best one for that ship.
And that is the point of this subject.

@OsoRojo - I don't know how Corsairs feel about you using Rapiers.
Yes, you are not hostile, but you (because you work with the Outcasts) should never get that guns.
Also, BSG and CR are both friendly or allied with TBH.
And are your biggest enemies.
But this as well is not the subject here, and i'm sorry for offtopic i made.

1/2 of the ship don't seem to have a hitbox.
And about the BD HF, it is very vulnerable to missiles, has a decent sized hitbox, very small energy, and has low armor.. The agility makes up for it, just like every other BD and Kusari ship has better agility than everyone else, save the Eagle. Its quite balanced. We turn better, boo hoo. Your Titans have huge amounts of armor. Do we complain when it takes half an hour to shoot you down because you have enormous amounts of bots to regen your enormous hull?
You people complain WAY TO FREAKING MUCH. It seems a fad on Discovery now-a-days to call for a nerf every time you come up against something you can't beat.
While we're on the subject, lets degrade battleships to only 100,000 armor, make gunboats the slowest ship in the game, take away the cruiser's shields and take off the torp slots on the bombers. FFS people, learn to overcome your enemies advantages. Every ship out there right now has advantages and disadvantages. The only ship I know of that needs a nerf, is a slight agility change to the Blood Dragon Catamaran Bomber, and either a very slight change to the Praetorian bomber, or a small decrease to its armor. Its just as agile as the Titan.. The Praetorian, the bomber, should be less agile than the VHF its based off of.


Erm wtf? why are you attacking Corsairs when no Corsairs have even posted in this thread complaining about the damn hitbox?.
