Some Faction Confusions

Firstly, I hope this is the right place!

As the Title suggest I am having a few confusions with the faction
rules and such, thus I thought I would ask here.

Firstly the "One Faction per ID rule": obviously the faction my questions are
concerning is OZ and thus that would be a Zoner ID'd faction. As Phoenix are
currently going for the Zoner ID (I think, and good luck to them) this would
be an issue... So does that mean I apply asking for my own OZ ID (is that
even kosher?) or do I just apply for Zoner ID and ask for someone to
helpfully suggest I could ask for an OZ ID?

Reasons for own ID being:
A: We don't want to be responsible for all Zoners.
B: We don't want to deform "Zoners" to our way of RP.

Secondly the rule about a "second specialist ID", we currently have a lot
of roleplay with a group of AI, we were considering if at all possible to perhaps
combine the two and have their "group" as specfic subsidiary group of OZ.

However having read the rules:
"The specialized ID does NOT provide access to ships or weapons that are forbidden to the primary ID. "

Thus this wouldn't allow it and thus I am presuming we would need to do some long term compounding
RP supporting our relationship between the OZ and the AI before any thing was able to come of it.

Finally home system stuff, I am presuming this is no longer in use?
If it is however still in use whoop-de-doo!
One bil, that's quite cheap compared to all the money I have spent on Zeta so far!
And only 8 people... not bad.

Its very hard to get your own ID, you need to have been an official zoner faction for a while to get it. IMO you're far better off putting in an app and fighting Pheonix for the open spot then hoping you'll get your own ID anytime soon. Otherwise you'll be waiting until Pheonix dies or gets their own ID.

Reasons for own ID being:

It takes a significant length of time on the server to earn a custom ID. It is no longer looked upon favourably to take the spot of on Official Faction using an NPC faction ID, while intending to use that as a stepping stone to a custom ID (ie. hogging the Official Faction spot while not truly representing the NPC faction). That said, you're specifically Zoners so it might not be appropriate to pick up a generic ID at this stage. Provided there are no obivous contenders for the Zoner Official Faction slot, however, it might not be such an issue. Best to play it by ear, and keep your roleplay consistent and well-documented.

The Zoner ID permits Cruisers. The AI ID permits a specific Cruiser, the AI Cruiser. Taking the AI ID as a secondary ID wouldn't be breaking the rule quoted above.

If you want Omicron-74, you will probably need to buy it, even though the reference thread is very out-of-date. I'm not sure if TAZ or OSI currently claim ownership of that system.

I think they'd be wanting to buy Omicron Zeta. Both the old Zoner factions currently hold unique IDs as well. Makes me wonder if the Zoner official slot is actually open or not. That needs clarifying.

Well, you better have to wait until we will change ourselves to our own ID. As OSI get their own shiny ID, if to be honest, I wanted also same thing for Phoenix. But in my opinion, every faction must prove themselves on NPC ID for some time, when faction start to being official. Also get officialdom + own ID in same time looks almost impossible to me.

Why should they have to wait? I dont really see you guys being official yet. So nothing is going to stop them from applying for officialdom with a Zoner ID.

Yes Omicron Zeta, althoughin no rush to make changes to the system.
Devs have already worked hard changing it and I think those changes should be very interesting so the reasons for wanting Zeta is not to try change anything just yet.

Well... We have time... It is my opinion that good manners and patience are both virtues perhaps they will pay off one-day.
If at all possible I would wish to skip "taking the Zoner ID" even if that just means being unofficial for a lot longer our people would in no way represent "true" Zoner RP/their people we have already changed too much. Although tbh I think the only change between a Zoner ID and an Obsidian ID would literally be the name.

Presumably to show an effort has been made and there is sufficient sacrifice to show that you care enough to be given one... when those rules where written player bases hadn't yet existed and thus it wasn't as easy to develop your own system through RP and in-game mechanics, now it is much easier.
