I like the way it's done, but i don't like the model itself.
However, that is not your mistake.
I just don't like wings on space crafts.
Small wings, like on Taiidan, sure, but big wings - big no.

I thought Plane like ships are not welcome anymore.
Never mind, use your fantasy, let your mind flow. I could give you some suggestions, but it is your model and not mine. You will have other imaginations than me. As i have said before, make a concept. You must know which faction you want to design it for and for what purpose. Then use other models of that faction and purpose as references. Start modelling without a destination is a hard way and your first model wont be perfect.
Well so far, Jinx has given me the best input. And I followed most of it.
I gave it wings because I work on the fact this thing is going to land on planets with oxygen....and it needs to be able to glide on the air, unless it wants to use outrageous amounts of fuel to keep it up-right. And the reason it doesn't need so much fuel in space, is because it doesn't need to hold itself stable in a dense, environment with the gravity factor. Also, the wings are a great place for gun hard points. :P
So even the ]-<" looked elegant. So if it was incorporated in the ship it would look 110% better. So, thats what I did. I messed around with the wing placement, and the sweeping of the wings.
I messed with the cockpit and body shape as well. The tail was modified so it dosn't just look like a thing that was randomly jammed in there and is not supposed to be there
----------------------------------------
-The bottom of the ship isn't flat anymore, and resembles a more 'hull' shaped look
-Places where made on the rear of the ship for the thrusters(engines) These places correspond with the engine cowling's in the front of the model.
-Rear fins where created (but I don't really like them, I was bored)
-The nose was pointed down a tad more.
-geometric faults where corrected. (ie: tail was 0.23 on the Y axises* out of place....lol?)

Comments? This is addictive! Is it any better?

the X shaped wings are not very nice. I'd suggest you redo them by spacing the upper and lower wing sets with something... the back wing seems also to have a problem though with the perspectives i cant see what exactly.
I shortened the wings, and I have to admit, it looks kinda..well....better :P
Chages made to cowling's
And tail defects corrected....Xing, you where right.
I swept the bottom wings forward the same amount they where swept back, and it looks cooler
The top wings are leveled at zero.
It looks like it could kill something now lol
It still looks civilian to me though. I was looking at making it an IMG bomber, are there any other changes I need to make to make it fit that description.

aha now it is much better. it is I believe a quite low-poly model, so it could get in game without any problem, would cause no lag at all which is good. think you can try texturing it now?
Well... first thing you need to do is to export your ship's texture. I usually export it into jpg format, but i dont use gmax/3ds, so i dont know how to do that with your software.
After what I open that thing in photoshop and work on it. If you need any kind of texture (metal, engine, etc) you can either import them from FL vanilla, create them yourself with photoshop or find them on google, quite simple.
